In a modern world going all equal and inclusive, this one(swinging) seems the only one where discrimination and gender related issues are created against single men whose only fault is to be single. Blocked messages on fab, higher club fee, being banned from most parties etc and because of few assholes who misbehave the whole category is penalized. Of course now you all will say that it is just my imagination.Rant is over

People block men from messaging probably because they don’t want to meet men

As someone on here trying to meet single men specifically, I’d say that’s not applicable (in my case)

Thought it was only women who moaned.

It is what it is.

People are allowed to block on here.

We are not all meant to like each other.

As for club scene that is not my fault nor the clubs.

So you not just think it's a question of numbers?

I don't know the stats, but females are vastly outnumbered by males, so it's always going to be like that unless the scales tip

Change gender or you just have to accept the abundance of men, coupled with the fewer people who they want to meet, is going to continue this

Blocked messages on fab - Because there are too many men on fab and many people receive too many messages they can't even finish reading. So they block messages from single men and reach out to the profiles they find interesting. Some of them don't even want to meet single men and that's their choice.

Higher club fee - This one has been controversial for awhile. It's basically supply/demand based capitalism. Increasing fees for single men allows them to decrease fees for women and couples who are lower in numbers in general.

Being banned from most parties - If they want to play only with other women or couples, it's completely within their rights to ban single men. No one should be forced to play with others for social justice

It's just your imagination. Recent surveys have now concluded that Fab is sitting at 52% female with 27% of them gagging for single men. 2% will fuck anything and 1% have. Apparently.

10 veris in 4 months. That’s better than we’ve ever done in our multiple accounts on here. Maybe couples are the ones being discriminated against. I will post my rant soon.

I think there are actually two classes of single male on the site. The first is the one OP identifies - basically someone who is seen as a cash cow and is marginalised. That is the vast majority. There is a second group who, for whatever reason, seem to find the site/club/meet scene easier to navigate. That group is much smaller but has a much more equal time of it.

As an example to counter your argument, I have blocked at least 6 single males today, for generally the same stupid thing.

That stupid thing is not reading our profile or understanding it, in fact we have even rewritten and simplified it.

So of those blocked today we have people who have sent friends requests never having spoken or contacted us. We have guys who've asked if we are interested, but checking their profile they have a beard or stubble, or are 5'8 or 5'6, all these are mentioned as not what we are looking for.

The point is it isn't a few "a**holes" in fact in our experience it's the majority.

I won’t bash single men because that’s all we look for but our profile is as simple as it gets and we still get messages asking to meet.

If you ran your own club would you charge the same entry fee for all applicants or would you model existing club strategies?

I think the blocking and filtering tool on here is really helpful. A few slip through but not many.

Yes it may seem harsh to filter based on previous experiences but I do believe everyone should feel comfortable with using the website.

"Would you like some cheese to accompany your whine?"

I reckon the op has a point. Men in here are stereotyped by a lot. Not everyone, but the majority of people think single men are assholes to the the point they feel they have to block ALL single men from messaging even though they’d like to meet up with single men.

It’s a shame.

“All men are dickheads… hey why can I find any guy worth meeting?” - as all the worth while guy quietly exit the room

It’s a vicious cycle

Some Guys are dicks

Women treat guys like dicks

The good guys leave, the dicks stay

Guys left are dicks

Reading

If it was cheap to get into clubs they would be coverrun by single men. So the women and couples would stop going. So you are left with the choice of this mañ or this man.

As far as being blocked those people are not your match so don't sweat it.

Is it brutal for guys on here? It can be but its also not easy for women to find what they are looking for. So many messages i get are from men who either haven't read my profile or have read it but think it doesnt apply to them. Can you see the frustration from our side? I'm lucky not to get abusive messages but somec do.

I understand why these things are all the case. There are obvious reasons why a club doesn’t want the party turning into a sausage-fest.

We do without the “he never read my profile- blocked” from ladies/couples. I mean your profile is longer than most books many men have read and how many profiles do you think she’s read?? Men have to send infinitely more first messages than women and it’s just not practical for us to read screeds of demands you’ve written and then tailor a custom message for you to totally ignore.

So, if it seems a guy hasn’t read your profile to the point where it has made you really angry, please just quietly block him and move on.

I've never been to a club and have no real desire to go to one apart from ticking off a minor curiosity.

I always laugh though at the business model excuse that is used as a reason to charge men more.

I doubt very much that every club is full to capacity during opening hours.

A much simpler business model would be to do what every social event I've been to does instead.

Just have a set number of single men tickets each night proportional to the club capacity and charge everyone the same.

The prices don't affect me as there isn't a club scene as such in Ireland so I don't have to concern myself with these things but the whole go to a club and meet people advice offered here every day doesn't take into consideration the fact that the cost of doing so for single men is much greater than anyone else.

Ultimately this all comes down to a reader /recipient/ beholders market. If they don't want what you're selling you won't get anywhere.

No point getting bent out of shape about it.

I guess the disappointment, frustration or whatever comes from expectations that aren't managed. Personally, fab didn't promise anything the way say dating sites do. So we come into these things with our eyes open, it's up to us whether putting the time in to get or do the things that increase our odds of "success" (whatever that actually means is subjective too) is actually worth it or not.

Label me discriminatory but I block men when they show me they are twats.

Spend days not replying to a message trying to arrange a social meet. Blocked.

Annoyed me, blocked.

Look at my profile forty times in hours, blocked.

I don’t think it’s only men who are twats here though. I’ve blocked women too.
