10 years of this stupid American tradition that our children love.

Neither of them believe in the elves of Santa but it’s still expected.

A family member owns a balloon business. They sell so many elves in balloons it’s ridiculous!! Most are repeat customers taking the elf back year after year. I’m so glad my kids were too old for that shit!!

Tell the kids it's their turn to take over elf on the shelf. It will get messy though but it is fun listening to their giggles as the elf does naughtier and naughtier things.

Eating the kid’s favourite food (excuse for you to eat the choc and leave empty packets around the elf)

Outside the bathroom wrapped in loo roll as if he’d pulled it all out

Having a game of cards with Barbie or some other doll/teddy

We’ve done endless toilet roll pranks but the Barbie idea seems to be a good one and is definitely getting done
