Happy to be corrected, I’ve never understood why it’s added to pasta or paella other than to change the colour to black; it adds zero flavour to the dish!

Very popular across the Spanish islands in my experience.

It tastes briny to me, not really fishy.

Which is not true, but just because I disagreed with you somewhere somewhen doesn't mean you should just "call me out" randomly like this for no reason. The way it looks right now, you're doing the very thing you accuse me of.

But you do you.

I may not agree with some of the profiles posts but there's no need to bring previous threads into new threads. He didn't pick here. He made a joke

She called him out and rightly so, he never contributes anything without a negative tone and that’s my opinion which I’m entirely entitled to profess.

I still don’t rate squid ink and I don’t rate him either

Don't want to interrupt your witchhunt and all, but you did rate me there. "She called him out and rightly so, he never contributes anything without a negative tone ". You only comment here to talk about me, literally saying "I am not here to talk about squid ink" in a squid ink thread, about squid ink.

Maybe you all just need to, you know, stop being so emotional. Maybe get laid .

When done well, it can add a 'seafood' taste to the pasta or, at least, the smell of it. I dislike seafood in general, which, perhaps, makes me more sensitive to the smell and taste of it.

Sometimes, the more delicate smell and taste of the squid ink in the pasta can be overwhelmed by a seafood sauce, making it seem like it 'adds zero flavour to the dish.'

I ordered some in Ibiza as part of a tapas. The guy spoke perfect English but looked at me puzzled and so I pointed at the menu

He realised what I was after, laughed and said “Sorry! I’ve never heard anybody ask for it in English!”

It sounds more exciting than it is. It adds more depth than flavour

No, but in the pasta that’s made with it at good Italian restaurant. I’ve never tried cooking with it myself.
