I’ve lived permanently away from the UK for a while now but still follow the news.

I genuinely can’t remember the last time I read a good news story from the UK, almost daily I read about cost of living, stabbings (WTAF), more shameful Met Police stories, today I read about taxing push bikes and making people register them online with a number plate

UK is grim isn’t it.

The news here is good today, a 3-day weekend has just been announced by the government

Really?

Isn’t it a case of priorities?

How many illegal cars are driving around, no insurance, untaxed (basically uninsured), unlicensed or banned drivers?

Isn’t that to be fixed before “taxing” push bikes or am I genuinely missing something?

They have fixed the cars driving around without tax and insurance you see them clamped all over Devon, handing out fines left right and centre, accountability thats what the law wants and what the law wants the law gets, more money in the kitty

Driving along a country road and you get stuck behind 10+ of the lycra clad enthusiasts with no way of passing them as they are all in mass gaggle, yes I have no patience.

Great, however **insert any British expat ingredient or food item is **multiply English price by 10 in Malaysia, so you do the math.

Nah, honestly, Malaysia is awesome. As a British colony they just made everything better than us.

I think that you're missing the point.

It is a FACT that every day, 1000's of innocent drivers are negatively impacted by the presence of those irresponsible cyclists. In some cases, and unlucky driver may find that their 5 mile drive to work could take as much as a whole minute longer than it should, or in really extreme cases, they may be made to drive a little slower for a short while before stopping at the exact same Red Light that they would have encountered had the cycle not got in the way... it is totally UNFAIR

Have a look for the news story about a guy being rescued from the top of a burning building in Reading by a crane operator putting a cage down beside him in a very tiny space. If that's not good news, I don't know what is.

We're in a hell of a state otherwise but obviously it's not our fault, it's 'them'.

North West

Bad news has always been the stuff shared and published. People either want to know or need to know. The town crier never cried "hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! Mr and Mrs Jones are celebrating their Diamond Wedding today, there's free tea and French fancies in the front room between noon and 3."

But they did cry "hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! Three people found dead, mad man in front of the Magistrate in the morning."

Chop it no stalks .

Wash and try .

Toss it in your preferred lube..mine was melted butter.

Then season ...mine was smoked paprika.

Rost until it goes crispy which is pretty quick.

Absolutely delicious.

Recommend eating it with grated parmesan whilst

sitting comfortably on the loo ! .
