"The income tax is coming down. And we have a general election coming up soon. The uk is shit, you’ve got to make up your own good news. ![]() Sky News posted a calculator so you could work out how much better off you’d be, I put my overseas details in and I’d be £580 better off! Great, however, fuel is 28 pence a litre in Malaysia so you do the math ![]()

"I’ve lived permanently away from the UK for a while now but still follow the news. I genuinely can’t remember the last time I read a good news story from the UK, almost daily I read about cost of living, stabbings (WTAF), more shameful Met Police stories, today I read about taxing push bikes and making people register them online with a number plate ![]() Number plates on push bikes would be good news.

Isn’t it a case of priorities? How many illegal cars are driving around, no insurance, untaxed (basically uninsured), unlicensed or banned drivers? Isn’t that to be fixed before “taxing” push bikes or am I genuinely missing something?

It is a FACT that every day, 1000's of innocent drivers are negatively impacted by the presence of those irresponsible cyclists. In some cases, and unlucky driver may find that their 5 mile drive to work could take as much as a whole minute longer than it should, or in really extreme cases, they may be made to drive a little slower for a short while before stopping at the exact same Red Light that they would have encountered had the cycle not got in the way... it is totally UNFAIR Cal

"Have a look for the news story about a guy being rescued from the top of a burning building in Reading by a crane operator putting a cage down beside him in a very tiny space.
