I was part of a cple for 20 years on the swinging scene our thing was other males to join us

I loved other guys fucking her and she did not Complain

Now separated ( not for issues in swinging) we still get on just prefer to live apart

Background sorted

I know the plight of cples getting thousands of messages from single guys

I would be home after work deleting all the ones with no pic not even looking at the winks

Finally we would go through the ones left and she would say yes or no

I wink

And I know it will probably never be seen and that’s ok

If I like a cple I’ll wink I don’t have the time to write an essay I fancy you go from there

I don’t want to write a bunch of bullshit to make you like me as it’s all in the chat after

I know you think winking is lazy but so are the copy pasted messages you get

You’ve basically admitted you deleted all yours when you were in a couple so what are you hoping to achieve?

Surely writing a short message that shows you read their profile would be better? If the couples options where ten winks and ten messages of which two showed the profile was read, who do you think they’d respond to? Just my two cents for what it’s worth…

We each use fab in our own way and, hopefully learn and adapt as we go.

If you're contacting people who have limited time, it's wise to give them what they want, most easily. If winks work, carry on. But my guess is that you'll miss out on many people.

In the time it’s taken you to write that post about not having time to write messages to people you could have written a message to someone and possibly got a reply.

How many couples are you sending winks to? I’m in no way telling you what to do but if you have time to find, say, 10 profiles that you like and send them a wink, even though you know they’re all going to ignore your wink, surely it would be better to spend that time finding one profile that you like and writing them a message (that’s not a copy and paste message) that they might reply to. Not having much time doesn’t mean you should waste your time doing lots of pointless things rather than one worthwhile thing. You’re just wasting your precious time by sending winks that you know will be ignored.

Our bio specifically says we delete winks without a chat.

Not only is it lazy not writing a message, but it's lazy not reading the bio.

Or worse, it was read but they don't care.

Spent a long time on the kink scene in the late 90's and early 00's experiencing it as a single male.

The way we see winks is, it's nice to be appreciated and we leave it at that. We never delete winks, it's good to know who has winked when we view profiles too, especially when things change and the Boss does start wanting to look for a single male.

May I ask why you don’t accept winks from single males but you do from couples? Is it not lazy to wink when couples do it?

I wink. I sent messages. Some reply. Some don’t.

The way I see winks on here is that if someone winks and gets a wink back then it's up to them to initiate the conversation and not the person they have winked.

I don't get lots of winks so there is no chance they will get lost but the vast majority of winks I have received from women and couples have been lazy winks.

They wink and I return the wink and that's as far as it goes because I know they expect me to carry the conversation.

If they can't be arsed sending me a message why should I make any effort?

I don't mind winks, it is the profile, pics that will make me want to initiate contact with a message. I'm happy to write someone a message.

Sound about right, you can’t argue with this. I think pretty much the same.

Exactly this. Just shows there’s initial interest and if I get a wink back then the essay writing can begin then.

Nothing more frustrating than writing an essay only for it to be deleted unread. Life’s too short for that.

I personally don’t mind winks, all it is doing is showing an initial interest.

I see it a bit like seeing someone in a bar or club or wherever and catching their eye.

I doubt very few would just walk up to someone and go into a “spiel” about themselves.

That said each to their own

I don’t think there’s any set way to use fab, it’s like jobhunting, it’s very specific, and most of the advice given by others doesn’t apply to you

Each wink from a couple is mixed in with 100 winks from single men. It's a gigantic waste of time. Almost always a couple will also follow up a wink with a message anyway.

Plus, we have expressed it as a preference, if people don't respect our message preferences we don't have much faith they will respect anything else either.
