Gents,do you look good in a suit?

couple, us we him her.

Not sure if it's the fact I'm a hairy arsed builder bloke and used to looking like crap all day,but whenever I wear a suit I never feel comfortable.

Or it could be my build,I tend to look like a doorman at a crappy pub.

I love looking dapper and nothing beats lacing up your favourite pair of Oliver Sweeney boots,a decent suit with a nice crisp white shirt and an expensive tie in a double Windsor knot obviously a decent watch and smelling great.

In my head I look like an expensive lawyer, in reality I look like a sack of potatoes tied up in the middle.

If it's off the rack, have you considered taking it to a tailor to get adjustments made? Doesn't cost a lot and may make you feel so much better when you see yourself in it.

It's weird as it has a sort of outdated boss like appeal for some but most of the CEOs would only ever have to wear a suit if they go to court or to parlement for answering why they are doing something dodgy. That being said I quite like when I wear one

Common and lazy stereotype. In real life men don’t look good in most suits. Pop down to your local DFS or SCS on a bank holiday to see the plastic sleazy salesmen in their shiny polyester suits.

Paper Town Central, Essex.

Been told I look bloody amazing.

Be it in my full highland attire, dinner suit of a simple 3 piece suit.

The key, though, is to buy close to and get it adjusted accordingly..

Accessorise with a pocket square and proper bow tie or in my case, regimental tie and cuff links.

Plain white shirt.

Classic and timeless.

Just like every woman should have a little black dress, every man should have a well fitted 3 piece suit.

All guys can look amazing in a suit.

It sits on colours, patterns, tie/bowtie etc and then proper tailoring to make it look good. Most standard off the rack suits, unless you pay more for good quality, don't look good on most guys.

I spent some money last year on a proper suit having always hated them because I always felt like I'd borrowed them off my dad because of the way they fit. I have big thighs, broad shoulders and long arms.

But I really like this one and I always get compliments which is very nice.. Well worth spending money on one that fits properly which makes you feel good when you're wearing it.

No suit has ever fit me properly off the peg and I’ve either gone oversized off the peg to allow for my gibbon length arms and wide shoulders and tailored to fit or had a couple made bespoke. It doesn’t matter how expensive the suit is - if it doesn’t fit, it will look shite. The best tip I have is buy a cheap suit and then spend the money on having it tailored to fit (the transformation is extraordinary)- any tailor will tell you it is all about the silhouette.

Also be sure it’s an English cut suit not European cut, apparently French & Italian tailors cut for a very fitted look, which can fit tight in just the wrong places.. but as has already been said.. see if you can find a good tailor to customise your suit to you..

And yes, pocket square!
