As the saying goes every day is a school day.

What have you learnt in the past few days?

That crocheting a half granny square is way more difficult, time consuming and fiddly than a full one. Especially if each round is a different colour.

Also to look at the picture that comes with a pattern because it sometimes proves the written pattern wrong

I've learnt (and learned) that the Vagina Museum in Bethnal Green is actually a reincarnation of a previous said museum...from way back. (Thank you to Mr. Miles for that snippet).

This is so true. It's why my Persian Tiles blanket remains uncompleted despite being a few triangles from completion. They're just so tedious.

I have also discovered (although I think I probably knew this) that young people in their twenties and sometimes thirties feel they need to explain the basics of life to me in a very condescending way.

To rest when you don't feel 100% if you don't want to feel like you've been run over .

I'm not doing anything like it again. Weaving the flaming ends in is awful. Anyway I've finished the squares, just going to construct the cardigan. I was dreaming about it all night

I learnt to crochet in primary school and not done any since.

It's something I would like to learn again, but not sure how too. Will need to explore beginners kits

How interesting. Wasn't there something like this in Amsterdam?

I taught myself from a book about 40 years ago, YouTube has probably replaced that now .

It's so relaxing unless like me you stupidly choose to make small squares from many colours .

You can't polish a turd, a turd is still a turd!

Some people's behaviour is just always going to be on "Turd" levels.

You are correct: someone else mentioned this on a separate thread this morning. I've not been to the one in 'dam.

Godalming

Over the last few days have learnt that falling down the stairs at my age hurts more than it did when I was younger.

And that you can’t wash tea out of white walls…

Well, this is exciting!

I also just learned that the thirsty versions of my favourite horror artist's comics are based on your profile photos

That my electricians were arses, as they have ruined the threads for the light fittings outside and now I cannot change the bulbs.

That my plumbers must have inbred with the electriciants, as they have messed up the shower so that on its maximum setting it is still cold (unless I flush the loo in a different bathroom and then it is scalding).

That my carpenter is a genius.

That worrying, most of the weekend, about my treatment changing from tablets to weekly injections was a waste of energy as it didn't even hurt this morning, total win!

Somewhere else

That the bloke who fitted my bathroom screwed up even worse than I’d previously realised.

Fortunately it was an inexpensive and quick fix.

Thank goodness for honest contractors.
