Verification - low bar

After seeing a status warning of a local timewaster I went to have a look. On the profile was 1 verification reading "...viewed me a few times on cam. Love being watched thanks..."

.

How on earth is this a verification? This is a very low bar!

Aren't there rules about this?

Somewhere in Co. Down

I suppose it depends on whether both were on cam if they both were it's fine,if only one did but both sent a veri then one is wrong.

Technically though the wording is fine as all a veri does is prove it's that person. It's easy enough to ignore if you think there is something suss about the whole thing.

there was a time you could get verified by a telephone call, personally I only look for verified in person, so you don’t come a cropper, but even that can’t guarantee you anything these days.

Maybe I've got this wrong, but I'd have thought as a minimum you'd want to know it was a human you were verifying, perhaps seeing the cam-viewer. The recipient could have been a bot.

The clue is in the verification itself.

“Viewed me on cam”. Loads of similar ones around. Tells you that they just sit at home tossing themselves off.

Look for people who actually meet.

Fake profiles get verified all the time.

Wouldn’t bother, do your own “research”, I never trust anyone else’s veris.

I've been pretty successful at the research side, sussing out fakes fairly rapidly.

This wasn't a profile I'd have been interested in anyway, (my interest was piqued by their being named and shamed.)

I think I hadn't realised how low the verification bar was on here - they could hide the verification itself and remain with their tick/icon.

Every day's a school day.

If you cam with them, you can get it.

It's always buyer beware here and in life.

What about the ones that say sucks like a hoover? She came round and when she left there was still dust in all the edges of the carpet. That Veri definitely wasn't worth the ink.

No grammar cops here.

Just the veri fuzz.

If a profile has only one or two verifications, I usually follow the verifier's profiles to see if they are trustable. If the verifier's profile looks like someone who has only done cams or downright untrustworthy, I ignore the verifications.

Another issue I found is that some "couples profiles" are verified by people after meeting only the male. Even if you write a verification that says you only met the male, they will just hide the verification content so that it looks like a normal verification. So I ignore hidden verifications too.

As others have said, it’s absolutely “buyer beware”, using verifications as some kind of safety net is simply asking for problems.

Had a couples profiles for circa five years, ignoring the obvious time wasters and zombie wankers, we probably spoke with literally thousands of potential play mates, arranged to meet maybe fifty people and of them less than a third actually turned up in person.

From that point we almost always had a good night, the vast majority were who they said and they turned up; due diligence is all you can do when meeting Fabbers, failing that, a club is the only other option in my experience.

It's not a baby sitting site.
