I put the butter on a plate or side of the butter holder and keep spreading it until it’s soft and you can spread it onto the bread.

I try to limit the use of butter. If possible I use good olive oil and sometimes grapeseed oil. Of course certain situations do require butter and lots of it. And no, my name is not Marlon

I tried hovering a knife with butter on over the toaster to soften it but it slid off into the toaster

No need to store in fridge in uk unless it’s really hot. Only leave out what is required in a butter dish during summer
