A lot of us are doing it, some love and embrace it, some of us work more efficiently, some of us struggle, some really miss being in an office..

What are your Tips and Tricks to Working From Home nirvana? Setup, efficiency, comfort, mental health…

I’ve just embraced leisure wear, bought myself fleecy jogging bottoms and hoodies. I’ve had a dress standard but have finally admitted that I’d rather be cosy and comfortable and that wearing what is effectively pajamas all day is okay. I’m on the look out for a fleece lined onesie that has a top section that looks like a collared shirt for Teams calls where I’m on video…

What’s your advice and top-tips for WFH (not going to use the term Life-hacks because I’m a grownup)

This is great! keeping fit with a good workout and releasing stress…

You get paid to receive a BJ*

My top-tip is to remember you are still human and entitled to breaks and have non-work related conversations… just like you used to do in an office.

I think we’ve all fallen into the trap of working longer and/or without breaks when WFH. There’s just no need… (and no extra pay!)

A start and stop the working day routine. Especially if you don't have a separate office.

No commute means no transition between work and not work mode.

You could take a short walk at the start and end of your work day as a fake mini commute.

Personally I always feel better if I have a morning gym session so have left the flat before I start, then a quick stroll to the shops or around the block, or head straight out to meet a local friend after logging off.

I think this is a fair point. It's all about balancing the work aspects with taking sufficient breaks, going out for a stroll or just stepping away from your laptop for some mental respite.

I tend to wear just lightweight clothing, joggers etc, sometimes even PJs (I really should get out of that habit!).

Agreed, and this is something I've recently started doing, small steps of course, going into the office once a week just to break the monotony of WFH. It keeps up my 'step count' with the walk to the station at both ends, popping out for a mid-afternoon coffee, perhaps bumping into a colleague and so forth.

Nero, for some bizarre reason I picture you WFH in a smoking jacket and cravat…

Taking breaks is essential and also ensuring that at certain o’clock it is no longer work time. Get up, close the laptop, walk away.

If you have a spare room or some space, set it aside for just work. Stick to normal working hours if possible.

I’ve not done since April, but what worked for me was a nice bright south facing room,, standing desk on the table, always start the day like you’re in an office, shower get dressed etc and then go to work, keep office hours, close and put the laptop away after work

Be like me, Buy computer, play video games whilst doing work.

Getting a PC is cheap, you're only looking at spending between £6,000-£9,000 if you get a good one so it wont break the bank and its a really fun form of entertainment!

Yeah, I can be like this. At work, I'm reminded it's probably lunch-ish time because other people start eating food. Left to my own devices, I forget and then realise at about 4pm!

Joggers, music, breaks.

It's nice to be able to chuck in a wash load or fill the dishwasher while making a cuppa.

I always go out for a walk for at least 30 minutes after I've eaten too - need to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and see other humans.
