"Me! X"

Is it easy to get good veggie/vegan options where you live? I'm lucky in Manchester but I think it can still be difficult in some places.

Very easy nowadays

Most supermarkets have vegan ranges and you have loads of options when eating out too now.

Yeah I was thinking restaurants more than supermarkets. You're right, things have massively improved over the last few years, it's gotten so much easier.

I do believe that restaurants always have had veggie options.

What I find most annoying is everything is cooked with wheat. Wheat allergies is a nightmare because so many normal foods contain wheat. At least veggies have options if not with wheat allergy.

That must be really frustrating and limiting.

Shops sell wheat free products but they taste vulgar. Also very expensive..

No bread

No pastries

No sausages

No gravy

No yorkshire

Although you can buy different flours to make bread from that are not with wheat or gluten.

Hopefully there'll be advances in wheat free options so they taste better. A lot of vegan stuff has improved a lot over the last few years, so hopefully things will improve for you soon.

I'm not veggie (do eat a lot of vegetables with my meals) and I find the easiest way to do low/no wheat is to just not try to imitate grain options. Or if you do, do it yourself and know your alternatives well (the various flours have wildly different properties)
