Somewhere In The Ether…

Ey ey good folks

As I’ve said previously, I am often very impressed by your culinary skills (as are demonstrated by you all as listed in the ‘What are you having for tea?’ threads)

In relation to the above: How far in advance do you plan your menu/meals?

Do you decide on the day or else are you more regimented and pre-plan days, maybe even weeks ahead?

Pretty much a week ahead. I do my food shop on a Saturday and pretty much know what I'm going to eat for the week ahead in terms of breakfast and dinner and use the Sunday to meal prep my lunches

It really depends. I try and meal prep at the weekends a bit and keep portions in the freezer too. That way I know that for busier days/weeks I can grab something so I have a good lunch or dinner. Doesn't always work well for both though

On the day and sometimes for the next day too.

Yesterday- cottage pie

Today- homemade fried chicken and chips

Tomorrow- bangers, mash and veg with a silky red onion gravy

Sometimes I decide the day before and sometimes on the day for main meals. Bread and other baked stuff needs a bit of preplanning because it's no good deciding you need bread five minutes before you want a sandwich

Always pretty much on the day... I only have 2 or 3 things in rotation at the moment, as it takes out the stress of deciding. Or I just don't eat.
