The mix then passes into the large intestine, where water is absorbed from the mix. As it passes through the large intestine, the mass of useless stuff gets packed together so it may be eliminated in a relatively neat and simple expulsion. It turns brown because of decay, in much the same way that grass clippings turn brown when left on the lawn"
