The Town by The Cross

I didn't see any trick or treaters this year, though the shops were full of goods for Halloween.

There have been hardly any fireworks going off this year though there was one 'session' like family party for a short while last night.

How's everyone elses neighbourhood sounding ?

Trick or treating round here is limited to houses with Halloween decorations.

Fireworks start at the end of September and continue into the new year though.

Halloween was amazingly hectic

No fireworks yet but I guess there will be tonight. I’m already planning my outside Christmas chaos

So quiet today though and it's been quiet all month and it's not usually. There's always someone who can't resist letting off early ( no fart jokes thankyou )

Maybe I'll get a few good bangs tonight.

La la land

We had loads of trick or treaters, probably the most we've had since moving here. There haven't been as many fireworks from people's gardens, but I guess the weather has a lot to do with it.

Get your sparklers out and you might get lucky

Fortunately the weather has not been good for displays so it’s been fairly quiet.

I just hope that doesn’t mean people have decided to save them for when the weather is better and we get them going off in a fortnights time.

On the Halloween thing, our local shop cleared a whole shelving area to dedicate to Halloween tatt, hardly any of it seems to have shifted, more unnecessary waste.

It’s done little else other than piss down and blow gales so that’s curbed most folks seasonal activities here. It’s improved a bit this afternoon so there may be a few explosions around this evening.

Fireworks have been horrendous, as they are every year. 2 nights of doggy hell with the worst to come tonight. I hate this time of year.

I noticed even five years ago while in retail that people where starting to spend less on fireworks and Halloween in favour of Christmas

.

There have been some beautiful displays near me this year. It's nice seeing them through the trees across from our house.

Halloween? Erm, it's been quite quiet. Christmas decorations have already started making an appearance though. Waiting for the giant door bows that will undoubtedly start popping up in the next couple of weeks.

I live on t'other side of the Dee.

I can see Dee and Wirral from my bedroom window.

Well, usually I can but last night I couldn't see as far as the road in front of my house.

Therefore I can't comment on the widespread usage of whizz-bangs.

However, at 6pm there were definitely less damps squibs going off than normal.

However, by 8 and 9pm, when the sky had stopped leaking, there were plenty fire crackers, roman candles and rockets being fired off.

In summary, much the same as most years, but a hour or two later this year.

p.s.

obviously the government has an interest in squashing bonfire night..... after all, who wants to spend an evening celebrating some guy who entered your home with the intention of destroying it?

Halloween was really busy round ours. Lots of kids out trick or treating!

I haven’t heard much fireworks this year though.

Deepest darkest Peru

I stocked up on loads of treats for Halloween but only had two sets of kids, quietest one yet

As for the fireworks they’ve been going off for weeks

Noticeably quiet. Heard some supermarkets removed fireworks from stores altogether. Dunno if it’s for risk of theft or air pollution

Glasgow

Plenty of trick or treaters round my way and I've been hearing fireworks all week. Tonight a bonfire will probably be assembled in the local park and the place will sound like the Gaza strip.

I expect the houses round my way to be putting up the Christmas decorations any day now.

Update

So far, tonight has been chock full with whizz-bangz, squibs and all manner of pretty sky decorations.

I guess that most people saw common sense and saved their fireworks for tonight rather than the washout that was last night?
