Why?

Do they have any affect on you as to where you would shop?

Why are they on TV so bloody early?, its only week 1 in November.

If you had to pick a favourite, who would win the golden Christmas star?

We saw our first about an hour ago. Quite surprised really as it's still early November. It has zero effect on my shopping habits. Some can be quite sweet, but it just seemed a bit odd. I'm not sure what a racoon with a toy has to do with Lidl, where I buy very un-christmasy things like red kidney beans and milk.

Isaw the new M and S one a couple of weeks ago.

Apparently people don't like it.

I don't like it - but then I didn't like last years either.

Can't stand the Dawn French thingy... This years has a great song ...... Meatloaf ( anything for love )

The add is solid shite.

M and S took a bit of the add out after complaints. They were burning Christmas hats and people said it was the colours of the Palestinian flag !! The ad was made in Summer long before anyone knew what would be happening now.

Some people could shout 'offence' at the slightest opportunity.

This isn't just any old lunacy - this is Marks and Spencer good old British conspiracy theorist lunacy.

In what’s been a tough year for many, Christmas will be a highlight.

I’m glad the shops are full of Christmas stuff. It gives people time to spread out their purchases.

Most TV we watch is pre-recorded so we rarely watch ads. An average break is 4 minutes, so press the forward button to X30 and with practice...bingo straight to the next part

They have 12 months to save. It's hardly a surprise.

More worrying is the fact that the people at Lidl think racoons are native animals in the UK. Lol

I love the M&S ad purely because of Hannah Waddingham. And no, they don't influence where I shop.

I trying but people are constantly slagging it, where's there respect for those that do like it?

I'm not that bothered really they can love/hate it, but what you said cuts both ways.

I love Christmas and the whole festive period. But it would be lovely to wait until December before everything starts getting pushed from all angles.

The whole commercialisation of it all is frankly quite off putting as it seems to start earlier and earlier every year in order for retailers to try and extract more and more money from us.

I've always loved the Aldi Christmas ads. It's always good seeing what theme they have for Kevin the carrot each year.

I certainly loved this year's Willy Wonka theme with Kevin as Charlie Bucket.

The tongue in cheek humour is hilarious in this ad like the "plum crack" line which is really funny lol

So with today's technology why can't we choose to go ad free?

Yes I know we can PAY to do so!

I can imagine that the TV companies would go bust overnight if we were given that option, so sadly that's not likely to happen.
