Tough call but the Young Ones. I think because I watched it quite young though.

Bottom - with S Out being my favourite episode where they go camping in Wimbledon Common.

I liked the young ones, it was part of my formative years. By the time bottom and catflap came along I’d sort of grown out of it. New Statesman was good. Unfortunately quite a lot of the current government appear to have been using it as training material.

If you put a gun to my head and made me choose, The Young Ones because it was my childhood, even had the Young Ones game on my 48k ZX Spectrum and the Living Doll single with Cliff Richard and the Young Ones

BUT...

If my life isn't on the line, there's no way i could pick between those two.

The Young Ones, by some distance.

Although Ade Edmonson hated the asides (the weird stuff with puppets, surreal cutaways, etc) they were the bits which gave the show its character. Without it, The Young Ones would have just been...Bottom.

I like both. But I'd say The Young Ones has the edge.

Bottom - it's just out and out funnier. I've watched it so many times and it's still as funny as the first time I saw it.

The Young Ones has brilliant moments and is more original but there are bits that don't work as well.

I saw Rik Mayall live in ‘84 and do not think I have ever laughed so much in my life.

That night gave me my all-time favourite joke -

Why did the pervert cross the road? Because he couldn’t get his knob out of the chicken.

Two police-dogs talking:

"It's a bloody game, isn't?"

"What?"

"Chess - if you have a nosebleed..."
