Walking to the shops in your PJs and / or dressing gown?

Just passed a group of 3, looked like a mother and her two daughters, walking back from the local shops in PJs and gowns .. their prerogative, no judgements here, Fabsters!

It seems to happen more and more these days, so ..

Acceptable or not in your view?

And why?

Not acceptable in my opinion unless you are ill and have nobody else to shop for you. It takes seconds to put clothes on.

I hate those threads where the OP poses a potentially divisive question but doesn’t provide their own view so, with that in mind, I have to say that it’s not something I would do, and smacks a little of laziness imho.

But hey, I don’t know their individual circumstances so there might be legitimate reasons

Not round here.. Too windy too wet and open. Shop is 5 mins away.. People will gossip about my attire and fluffy slippers.

I have a lot on and I manage to get dressed to walk to my car which is 6ft from my door!

It's just laziness.

Totally normal at my local Asda.

This place used to have proud fishermen and their families plus a busy port. Now all has been moved to the other side of the estuary.

Shops being boarded up or even turned into residential and as such the Asda is popular.

London has moved some of their undesirables here, alongside some other councils who 'offload' here.

With the close proximity of a newer estate backing onto Asda many of the mothers get themselves and the kids ready for bed, throw on a dressing gown themselves and then come into the shop to buy something for tea.

I was abroad most of my life and am relatively new back in UK.

On the continent it would be deemed unthinkable, here in UK anything goes. Kids will congregate and have a spliff outside the shop, coppers nipping in to grab a sandwich walk by.. .

So funny, abroad there's no school uniform and no pyjamas in shops, here we make Johnny wear a shirt ams tie and at night he goes shopping bed ready...

Who am I to judge.. but ffs, really??

There's some where it's nothing to do with lazy or lack of self-care or whatever. It's more fuck you if you are going to judge me. I'm popping for some milk, I want my coffee now, then I'll get ready.

No automatic negative judgment from me, met a few women who would do that without a blink of the eye. Seen them take people apart for judging them too.

"Oh you think you're better than me? Go on then tell me what you think of me - say it to my face"

They never do they just fold, tuck tail and mumble insults under their breath when they are at a safe distance. Because they are really classy.

Acceptable: my experience straight talking, no games and they usually have the claws to match.

Where I live, I’ve seen it quite often, women in gowns, slippers, onesies, with hair rollers on and never crossed my mind it’s something out of the norm. Each to their own I say.

Not for me. Was in a pizza shop a week or so back when a woman walked in wearing her dressing gown at around 5pm. It's slusumly. My view is get up, get dressed and get ready for a bright brand new day.
