How often do you weigh yourself?

Do you own scales and do it daily or is it once every few years at the doctors?

Do the numbers bother you?

We don't own scales so I only weigh myself when I go to my parents house. Obviously I always try to have a good shit prior to getting on them. But even so, the numbers going up bother me slightly. I think I'd go mad if I weighed myself more often.

How about you?

I weight myself when I go to the in-laws and remember they have scales, which isn’t very often.

I weighed myself last week though. I wish I didn’t

I don't at all and although I do it at the Dr's, I opt to know look or be told what the number is. ED that has thankfully been in remission for about 7 years, I don't wish to relapse. Hate how body looks so knowing what I actually weigh would probably bring it back very quickly

Is that something you do at the same time each day then? I presume it's to do with your exercise regime?

Weekly using a set of those scales that monitor a range of body metrics. Whilst I doubt that they are the most accurate readings, they are however consistent relative to each other so it’s a good starting point

I use to as I was stuck at a certain number and wanted to lose 10kg. Last time I weighed myself I'd lost 5, if I don't weigh myself again in my head I'll always be that weight and I'm ok with that.

I’ve been on a fitness/trying to lose weight thing since April. I weighed myself every week but it does my head in if I don’t lose or I stay the same, even though I’ve gone down 2 sizes. So I took the scales to my mum and dads and I’m only allow to weigh once a month now

Every week. After two years of illness and cancer scares, losing weight for no reason is a bit of worry. So I monitor carefully, and if it starts to go down, I eat all the snacks in the hope it goes back up again.

Weigh weekly ish and would love to be under a 100kg but bobble about above it. I blame the muscle being heavier than fat waffle personally. It's all about the clothes fitting really.

I weigh myself everyday but just out of habit. The scales are in the kitchen - get up, put the kettle on, have a pee, weigh myself, make cuppa and back to bed.

Scales log to my health app on the phone and then I occasionally look at the rolling monthly average. My weight is pretty consistent and I can control it very simply by the amount I change my diet. At the moment I am trying to put more muscle on so I am looking to add some weight - not as easy as it sounds when my calorie intake is already fairly high due to exercise.

Number doesn’t bother me too much but is a helpful indicator of my current calorie intake and exercise volume. I train and compete in a sport with weight categories so I have to keep an eye out

Manchester(ish).

I weigh myself most days at the same time and make a note of it. This is mostly driven by the fact I compete in sport in a weight category, so it is helpful not to be too far over.

The mindset around this is important.

The numbers are just data, they're neither good or bad on their own.

The more data there is the less individual numbers matter.

I used to weight myself daily, sometimes twice or 3 times a day.

My husband then hid the scales as I used to get so down and de-motivated when I was working out 5 times a week and dieting, but not loosing any weight.

I now judge my weight by how my clothes feel.

In the past when I’ve been trying to lose weight I’ve hit the scales a couple of times a day. It’s such an unhealthy obsession. Now I gauge by how I feel rather than how I look or how much I weigh. And I stopped counting calories - another unhealthy, damaging obsession.

Yeah, I've got those. Not sure if they're completely accurate but I figure it doesn't matter if they're consistently inaccurate as I'll still be able to track my own data (supported by what I can see!).

I'm currently weighing myself about once a week. Not bothered by my weight as such, but am trying to bring the body fat down a little so concentrating on that number (and the weight is automatically dropping a little too).
