I have been going in over the weekend to get some work done for my yearly personal development goals done, popping back in now for a couple of hours and that will be 50% of my tasks done for 2024, i am either being super efficient, or i just need to get some hobbies lol.

Anyone else working when they really don't need to ?

Doing the grind consistently going back over tough PowerPoints on weekends to really understand, especially early in my career , extra hours making quality comms and networking, reading finance & tech when on holiday etc, before the kids got up.

Not anymore, the hard work paid off

Well hopefully the extra work pays off in the end i am getting brownie points with my new boss, i have saved about a £1,000 from her budget doing a few jobs that she was going to get contractors in to do, but i said i can do it no problem.

I've never worked for money or someone else when I don't need to. I'm not terribly ambitious or particularly well off though and I value my home life highly.

We have put a lot of blood sweat and tears into our home and we both worked to get the money to do that and to make sure our children had what they needed.

I suppose what I'm saying is, I work to live.

Yes but only for my own benefit. I could probably work less and still live ok but I work a hell of a lot to get to where I want to be sooner. I wouldn’t work this hard for anyone else though.
