Saturday's Nocturnal Thread - What is Belgian biscuit?

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Evening All,

The other Nocturnal hosts are out for staff training so they wanted someone with wit and engaging chat to take their place. He wasn't available though, and I happened to be passing.

This Nocturnal thread won't offer the allure of Misty, the bon homie of Ash or the charm of Nero....er....where am I going with this??!!...wait come back...

Ahem, if you've got something to say let's hear it, words are like nectar to me, puns even better and if you know your profanities and double entendres we'll get on.

Let the verbal sparring commence, let's wrestle with difficult concepts, submit to the beauty of verse and remove the skin of metaphors and wear it as a mask.

EsArKay xx

Still yet to start the main event, they’re putting on a pre fight show. I think they start their ring walks in the next 5. My stream has been pretty steady for the last hour.

It’s a big payday for them both, only real reason why it’s really going ahead. Although Ngannou has had a good career in combat sports with UFC and is a good hitter, I agree it’s most likely a Fury win.

There has been a date announced for Fury v Usyk in December. Usual has said a Fury win tonight is pivotal to it going ahead. So we might get a good heavyweight at the close of the year.

Absolutely, they amount of controversy and nonsense surrounding a Fury v Joshua bout over the last year or so has been ridiculous, so I can only imagine the same will occur over the next bout.

"Hello Es and Nocturnalistas.

Die Kaap is weer Hollands! The Boks won again!

Congratulations Davina, Boks win again, most World Cup wins outright. You've had a great weekend so far then?

Oh yes. It's been good thanks. "

What will it be like back in SA? Pandemonium?

"Weird fight, can't see anything other than a Fury win. But you never know with heavyweights.

It’s a big payday for them both, only real reason why it’s really going ahead. Although Ngannou has had a good career in combat sports with UFC and is a good hitter, I agree it’s most likely a Fury win.

I am always curious about these matches, I just wish the money could be found to get all the heavyweights to fight each other till we get an undisputed champ.

There has been a date announced for Fury v Usyk in December. Usual has said a Fury win tonight is pivotal to it going ahead. So we might get a good heavyweight at the close of the year.

Until I see them walking to the ring ( on my dodgy stream) I won't hold my breath. None of them need the money any more.

Absolutely, they amount of controversy and nonsense surrounding a Fury v Joshua bout over the last year or so has been ridiculous, so I can only imagine the same will occur over the next bout. "

Yes boxing can learn from UFC here, I get that it's hard and a short career, but we might never see the best heavyweights of this era fight.

"Howdy y'all, a cold front came in last night early this morning, fog, drizzling rain ,in the 40's, with a chance of snow or sleet tonight

Evening Bill, sounds like our sort of weather although we're never prepared for it. Will it affect your weekend? nope I'm curling up with a good book, it'll only last a couple days

The book or the weather? oh the weather "

That would cause a close down here, but tolerable almost everywhere else

No, to avoid getting the third degree from SARS (SA version of HMRC), we flew out on a cheap return flight and stated we were going on holiday. Just never went back. We renounced our SA citizenship when we took UK citizenship.

That's nothing illegal about going overseas for a visit and then extending it, and then deciding to stay permanently, as long as you don't contravene that country's immigration laws - and we didn't.

Yeah, this was before the current shambles. We breezed though. We were a smartly dressed couple with a lovely little girl. We both had degrees, and one was an engineer. We had sufficient funds, and our paperwork and visa were all faultless. It's a lot easier when you're in a position to afford to get all your ducks in a row. We were privileged.
