This weather is getting me down so thinking of planning a winter escape. Any ideas of where to go in Jan/Feb without spending a fortune on long haul.

Depends on the island but can average between 16-22° in winter.

Ringwood Hampshire

Winter destination with out a doubt

Gran Canaria or any of the Canary Islands

You need sun screen the first day you head to the beach

Gran Canaria, go to the south of the island

Can be chilly going out in some evening

But you find it’s not cold…

It is there winter, so you can expect some rainy days

4 hour direct flight from my local airport

Not sure I’d fancy Egypt right now. It could get a little volatile for a westerner very quickly.
