Previous FWB

Has anyone had a previous FWB that they split ways from a while ago and miss them? I recently found out mines got married last month. We saw each other every week for about a year. She'd message me and I was always free at mines. Randomly think of them from time to time and wish I could start it up again.

My very first FWB and I are still friends (benefits stopped a long, long time ago) so no, I don't miss him as he is still an important part of my life x

*nods* I reckon you might have the old romantic version of fomo though? The fact she’s got married has made you wistful about her and getting yourself a new fwb, all pretty normal reactions

That's nice that you're still friends though! We couldn't remain friends. Just grew apart basically.

Certainly not fomo I know that. She comes up as a recommended friend on FB and every time I see her profile I get that flashback.

I think fondly about previous lovers on occasion because I have great memories of times with them (and some are platinic friends now). However, my last FWB was one that I do not think about anymore as that relationship was toxic (although I had gone back to her a couple of times despite warnings from friends [after all the benefits were fun] - but not seen or communicated with her for at least a year now).

I tend to have fond memories of everyone I've shared time and affection with.

Sometimes those feeling get mixed in with painful stuff too. That's ok though.

I've been there and started up again it was awesome then it went to the same place it did last time. She struggled with trust and turned controlling. She saw it the second time around though and walked away. To give space for my wife and I. Both relationships couldn't co-exist.

She asked me to choose her. I didn't. So she walked - not without leaving her mark first. I'm ok with that though. That's who she was, part of why I loved her. She was wild and she loved deeply. She changed my life; taught me how to care about myself, what true friendship is and love. She's etched on my shoulder. Kissy-face.

I kind of found this difficult to answer at first but I think it's because although I think fondly of some, if they move on and are happy I'd be happy for them. I'd just count whatever we had as company and being a 'season' in each others lives that we both enjoyed however long it lasted. There's something to be said for the people you can be intimate with in whatever capacity or for however long.

There are some I miss, but I have also been hurt by them.

Others just like playing games and I don't miss them ones.

Next Door

I miss the sex we had , and we always speak when we see each other.

I wish him all the happiness in the world as he became a dad again a few months ago. I definitely wasn't going down the road with him

Glad you took heed of what others were saying in the end. It's always difficult to distance yourself once feelings get involved especially if it's a FWB.

I'm sorry to hear you were hurt by some of them but happy you had some good experiences. In my case it definitely was as what you called a "season" as we saw each other all the time but I know she must of thought it was more but I didn't feel the same.

I don’t miss any of them. I had some excellent times with them, but they are just part of my past.

Some were kinder than others and the sex was great.

Life changes and it’s just part of the rich tapestry of the many experiences I have had.

I am looking for a new FWB though.

There's definitely a couple of them I would sleep with again, because it was easy and fun. And they made me feel desirable.

Yes there's one guy.

We stopped meeting as he met someone he wanted to be with, they are still together a year down the line.

We speak on and off just to catch up as friends

But he was there through a big change in my life and helped me through it and I will always be grateful to him and for opening my eyes to an amazing sex life is and what I enjoy now

Funnily enough every now and then, they keep popping back up in my life. Lol.

I was a stop gap for both my past fwb, which suited us both just fine. That was the understanding. They both eventually found a more permanent relationship and moved on. We parted amicably..I have fond memories but don’t miss them as such.
