Quick to shut it down

Afternoon,

I find it really to close down a conversation or delete a message within seconds. Certain things in the message or the name make me go 'no!'.

I wonder if I have been too quick to judge or just been around here too many years.

Does anyone else do this or find it easy to know the person isn't for you without getting to know them?

Carlisle usually

My gut response to 99.9% of messages is no.

I've not regretted the ones that I immediately felt yes to. I've regretted wasting time on those that I felt no to but felt obliged to 'give them a chance.'

Fuck that noise. Follow your gut

If you think no then go looking for the yes you’ll just arrive at no later.

Wherever

OP, if something feels off, it probably is.

I have more regrets for giving the second chance than not giving it in a first place.

98% of the messages I receive I delete without ever opening or reading. I have zero regrets. What do I base it on? The one line preview and/or subject of the received message.

If I do end up reading a message, I delete an equally high percentage of them. Sometimes, I rely to someone and then after some back and forth, they send a message that puts me off them completely — even when I was only chatting to them without any intentions other than being friendly. For example, someone assumed that we’d end up on a date together. I read that and deleted that message without replying. I thought to myself, what on Earth made that person assume the conversation which was not at all indicative of any interest was leading to anything when my profile directly states I’m not meeting anyone. Better to delete it or block them than waste my time trying to explain something which they should have been aware of by reading my profile.

I look at most messages. I try to reply to all, even if it’s a no thanks.

I have filters on and my profile states I’m not meeting, so it’s not like I’m inundated.

We will delete messages based on the title, first sentence or if one word or if they have a blank avatar or a dick pic as avatar.

We know we’d not be compatible straight away - we want to make our time on here enjoyable so chat to the people you connect with, delete and move on from people who are no’s.

I either know before I've even messaged them or within a few messages.

I do ignore a lot of hot funny guys though so I could of missed out, meh, I can live with it.

Calderdale innit

I know pretty quickly if someone is for me or not & I don't feel bad deleting a message when I feel that way.

It's rare I get a message that intrigues me or makes me want to say that yes.
