"Roger Corman made a series of films in the 60s based on Poe short stories (and one HP Lovecraft novella) starring Vincent Price in all but one. My personal favourites of the series are Masque of the Red Death, Tomb of Ligeia and The Haunted Palace (which is actually Lovecraft's Charles Dexter Ward), but many people put Fall Of The House of Usher and Pit and the Pendulum at the top. Oh I went to see The Woman in Black at the fortune theatre in London, we had a box overlooking the stage from the right with pretty much total view of the stage.. we had a 1ltr carafe of red wine and it was brilliant We went to a great restaurant for food afterwards: Sarastro, on Drury Lane. The toilets are a total mind blower!! | |||

"Seeing as Roger Corman has just died, going to mention again the series of Poe (and one Lovecraft) adaptations he did in the 60s, mostly starring Vincent Price. The Masque of the Red Death, Tomb of Ligeia and The Haunted Palace are my favourites of the bunch." I did not know Roger Corman had died. Maybe one of the London Indie cinemas will run a Corman season to honour his work. | |||

"Underworld " My brother bought a bootleg DVD of this from the man down the pub. The subtitles were hilarious as someone had just typed up what they heard. I have never seen it in its "uncontaminated" state. | |||
