Is it easy being single and finding a partner to share this life with ? At what point do you discuss that ?

Now lets discuss it now are we incompatible? Are we just not meant to be in a partnership, are we done, is this an environment for sustainable relationships?

Interesting question, one that I ask myself

Well in my case i don't think I'm done but it does become increasingly more difficult the older you get

Not sure that age is that relevant...I was 55 when Flik approached me in a coffee shop and here we are 10 years later. Sometimes things just happen for a reason but if you put yourself in an environment where you are happy and comfortable, other like minded people may well be there too.

My single friends who are mostly around ten years younger than I find it very difficult.

If I was single I don't think I'd even try. Although having been widowed last year my dad who is 96, is gently but actively enjoying the company of a woman on a platonic basis. Probably you never stop wanting to share your life with someone

This isn’t a question I can answer. Ailsa and I met at school. About a year after we left we bumped into each other in the street. Two weeks later we were together. We were 17. And we’ve been together ever since. We never had a proper conversation about our future, but when we got our first mortgage in our mid 20s, we both knew this was it. Marriage came later. And children much later after that. Everything just happened for us. Everything still just happens

I can't find someone to get naked with let alone anything more.

But I have had a relationship from fab, so it is possible

Wherever

Being single is easier for me than being in any kind of relationship OP, and I don’t actively look for one, neither on here nor elsewhere but I know personally many people who met on here and are now happily married or in relationship. So it’s possible.

It’s good to be open about what you’re looking for from the start.

Oh I miss it, but I am not sure it's worth the effort anymore.

I think most people are so cynical even if they wanted it they'd probably sabotage it.

I appreciate there's a degree of irony in that statement.

I would say it's not easy. It's like everything you are trying to find someone you get on with, can laugh with, have there for you etc etc all those relationship type things, then they are to be compatible in the swinging lifestyle too.... That can be a toughie. As in, if the other person doesn't like football for example and your REALLY into it, go to home games as well as the odd away games, then they can work round it. Do something else that afternoon. However, if it was swinging, and they weren't into it, and you went off for your swinging events that's a lot to take in. They could be cool about it, they could see it as betrayal or they could be 'hell yes count me in!'.

It's a lifestyle choice that can be more divisive than say an interest or hobby like football or crafting. As it is a lifestyle choice and not a hobby.

Having said that. It's not impossible. I bet there are loads of couples on here that found their partners through this site. I think it's just about being realistic, at best you find a relationship at worst you don't get anything, but you may get that happy medium of meets getting to know people and make new friends/aquaintances and having a fun time.
