Disappearing Profiles...Again!

If anyone saw my disappearing profile thread a few weeks ago, well it's happened again. Not quite the same level of talking, couldn't even get by the first message stage this time, but it was not one but two profiles! I know this site isn't for everyone and is overwhelming but I think that's my cue to not bother messaging profiles that are relativey new...

I didn’t read the last thread so not sure if it’s new profiles that disappear or long established ones?

If it’s newbies that you hit up and message as soon as they join the site, then you have to realise there’s hundreds of other men doing the same.

Maybe a naive newb hasn’t yet sussed out filters etc and get overwhelmed, and so run away to start again?

Or if it’s not that, it’s established profiles then I hate to say this, but there’s one common denominator in all of it ..

Anyway I hope you get more luck and good fortune going forwards OP! I know how frustrating it can be!

Oh never bother with new profiles. Just hotlist them for a bit first and see if they hang around for a bit.

I actually do that, that's how I see they're disappearing. Same with the update feed. I usually give them a welcome message and a "be prepared to be bombarded lol" just as a warning but within an hour or so, gone.

Oh don't worry i'm fully aware there's 100's of guys messaging. I usually give them a "welcome to fab" or "be prepared to be bombarded" and then within an hour or 2 they're gone from the site.

The thing is they’re bombarded with men saying ‘be prepared to be bombarded by men’ and most of them (not saying you do, but from what I’ve been told!) also saying ‘watch out for the men trying to get a quick fuck. Of course *I’M* not like that, oh no, I’m one of the good guys warning you about all the other bad guys on here’

Is it any wonder they then run a mile and leave?

(p.s. any ladies reading this .. see, I *AM* one of the good guys, not like the other guys (who ruin it for us good ones! My inbox is open! )

Genuinely thank you for telling me that. Didn't actually realise that was a thing. Certainly will be changing up the approach of messages. Avoiding new profiles for definite. Also just learned how to quote a reply as well.

I know why some people messages newbies. It's because they think by getting in first they'll boost their chances.

A lot of new profiles aren't what they seem. Some are just set up for quick thrills by people pretending to be things they aren't.

Some are set up by genuine people who get inundated with mail from day one and subsequently put off to the extent they delete.

Would be great if new profiles couldn't recieve messages for a couple of weeks to let them get settled, work out filters and given time to get a half decent profile set up.

Would put off all those with bad intentions. The fact the site is free invites all sorts to justvsign up, have a giggle or a wank and then delete.

Yep very much agree with the no messages for a while thing. Genuinely didn't know most guys were doing the same thing but now I do. It is sad because so many people here are all on for the same thing but most newbies don't end up sticking around due to the sheer amount of messages they get.
