I’ve never worked in an office. It’s not something I think I’d enjoy.

If you do, do you enjoy it? And why?

If you don’t what would you do instead?

Lastly, are office politics really a thing? In my world, if someone gets on your nerves you tell them in uncertain terms and move on.

I haven't worked in an office for 17 years, it wasn't t my thing & I'd hate to have to work every day 9 to 5.

I work in healthcare and can pick as and when I work at the min & it suits me for now

Depends on your role and how involved you get. I tend to stay out of it, don’t join group chats and all that stuff

Yes up until 3 years ago. It's ok if you have your own workspace. In I.T. we had our own dedicated office so it was quiet to get on with tech work. Last office I worked in was open plan with other teams around us. I found it most distracting with 'chatter' going on. I am a home worker now and it will stay like that.

I have worked in offices. Office politics are real and I can't stand it, it used to make my skin crawl.

I'm self-employed now.

I share workspace with associates and do business with people who don't play games and talk straight. Usually zero bullshit, assertive women, but that's the field I'm in it's female dominated.

I've worked in offices for over 40 years. Its been a heady mix of deadly dull and vitally interesting.

Office politics is a thing in some places. There is always someone who's too hot who's invariably as far away from the window as possible and someone who's too cold who's right next to it. One member will regularly bring egg sandwiches, another will have body odour and yet another will have an annoying habit such as sniffing or eating very crunchy apples.

Yep mainly in office, but I get the break from it by visiting sites or walking around the manufacturing floor. I'm lucky in my line of work it is very varied so very few days are the same but if I really need to break the day up I get my tools out and start building products, always makes people nervous though when the gaffer starts building product haha. I've worked on sites too and like any job, if its the same all the time no matter what it can get a bit boring.

Yes I do - I like routine. And working in an office gives me that. I also like organisation, paperwork, warmth, a seat etc.

Yes they are. I tend to just skate around the outside of it all.

I worked in an office for three months once. I just couldn't handle it. There were only males working there. Oh My God the smell, no thanks never again.

I didn't know toilets were brown.. Absolutely no idea people could have so much pubic hair.

I think it all depends where you work and the people you work with. I miss the office but that is because it was not the same everyday and that variety was good. Don't do office pilitics but catching up with everyone over a cuppa always good.

I used to work a mixture of office and site. Which is better was entirely mood based for me. In crappy weather definitely enjoyed the privilege of the office.

The rest of the time it really depended how fatigued I was and whether I fancied being out doing physical work or being planted on my arse dealing with desk work . If I did a long stint of either office or site then the other was always better too.

I do stints in an office as part of my role. It's a communal office and bloody hard to concentrate. No idea what a proper office setting would be like. I imagine it would be dull and headache inducing for long periods of time.

For one if my jobs I work in an office. It's just 3 days a week, it's actually ok, not too stressful or pressurised and most of my work colleagues are good to get on with.

My other job I work outdoors.

I am so pleased I'm not stuck in an office 5 days a week, that would be too much.

I’m a paramedic so have never been office based until recently. I left ambulance work to specialise in an area and I had my own clinics. That wasn’t for me. So now I work in clinical education. I teach two days a week and do three office days per week. My office days are at home though. Because of this there isn’t any office politics, I genuinely couldn’t tell you the last time I saw someone from my team, probably one of the quarterly team meetings.

If I'm ever forced into office work then bring me death. I'd rather be fighting on the frontlines or doing something medical related or even football/stunts for a job.

And yeah office politics are a thing, they seem to be prevelent in most professions I've done so far. I just ignore it though as I'm way too old for that shit.

I worked in office setting until covid happened, and then my role got fully converted into work from home with occasional visit to client's.

I liked it personally - it gave me a routine, nice work setup mostly, easy to walk to relevant people and sort out the issues than dealing through emails, a chance to have a close working circle and loads...

Never worked in one Think I’d fall asleep. Hopefully this will be my last winter worked and future plan Is to apply for jobs in winter and see how long can work my ticket without being sacked pushing more and more till finally get the sack probably factory work but will try get office
