50/50, we need a steady defence and to shut down their game play early.

It’s heavily in the boks favour in my opinion!!

75/25….yes England have beaten what’s in front of them and I think have played smart rugby….but against teams they’re expected to beat with their pool of talent!

SA are beasts in this situation and outside of a miracle happening….I can’t see England progressing!!

For Northern Hemisphere Rugby it would be brilliant…..but I can’t see it!!

50/50 means they are just as good doesn't it? Eng often do well (oven play above themselves) against the big teams and in the competition, but I just can't see it this time. SA were outstanding against France, even though France could have won that game. If England lost to Tonga last play they couldn't have complained.

The World Cup is a cup competition, it's all about form (above expectation), and SA vs NZ looks like a deserving final to me. France and Ireland have simply been knocked out.

England has done well to get this far, but it's as far as they'll go surely.

I don’t think we are as bad as a lot of people are saying but we are going to have a real game on our hands.

I’m sure they are favourites to win but if thing go our way and we keep Poseidon then we may just do it.

England aren't bad it's just the margin that South Africa are better. It's that gulf at the moment.

England are certainly good enough to make a game of it if their tactics are spot on though, so you never know for sure I guess. They do have that uncanny knack sometimes.

This might be the best SA team I've seen though, they are even good to watch! pt

Ok I have a sight vested interest in the rugby now.

Only it's more the case that if SA win I'm out of luck.

Shame I have no idea what any of it all means and who's likely to win or even who's playing who.

But I'm open to be educated

Another day it could have been - they are 2 of the 4 best teams, though Ireland lagged just a little I think (don't tell them).

Yeah, New Zealand vs South Africa final (the other 2 best teams).

I just hope these last games are as good as the Quarters - so come on England and Argentina!

Anyone else give Argentina a real chance tonight as they had such an easy quarterfinal game?

The All blacks had a right tussle through their quarterfinal against strong opposition and could suffer a bit of a hangover with all the battered bodies.

I’d give them a small shout yeah, the’ve beaten them fairly recently (in world rugby terms). The squad is very similar to that one. They will have spent the week going over that, and the feelings, game plans involved.

That said……the All Blacks look formidable in the back line.

On the flip side, the all blacks are game hardened after that semi and Argentina pretty much had a full contact training session for their game so it could work completely the other way.

Let’s be honest… the SA final has to happen.

I love a wind up but this final would be a similar game to tonight’s if England somehow snook into it.

The squad has massively overachieved in my opinion and that’s great but don’t ruin the showpiece we all want to see.

It was an amazing game! Toughest pool draw by far. Looking at the stats it was Ireland’s game. Sadly the points didn’t reflect it.

New Zealand have had a clear run through, no significant injuries, they’ll be fresher. South Africa are still weak with both kicking and hooking. Their advantage comes from the scrum, they have work to do this week for sure.

I'd like to say that England were superb! They shut the Boks out for most of the match. Their forwards made the Bok forwards look fairly ordinary for lots of the game. Their fullback was a titan.

They were unfortunate to lose! England fans should be very proud. I was laughing 10 minutes from the end, because I thought they were about to win, and I'd thought all week that there was no way

Goed gedaan die Engelse!

Sinckler was knocked out in the first few minutes of the 2019 final, two of South Africa’s scrum penalties in the last 20 were questionable, as they were wheeling the scrum, on the whole though I think the referee was generally fair to both teams.

Yeah agree. It was tense. And the boys done good. Restored a bit of faith. And at least played the conditions well. Hope the rfu don't take it as vindication and hide the problems in the English game. The lack of top quality talent in the player pathways... Our under 18s and 20s...the poor premiership when in European competition. There's no magic wand but there are problems to sort out or we lose more players to France.

Taking off marler and cole was the losing of the game..they are both world class scrummagers but they are elder statesmen not not fit for 80 mins anymore , as soon as they went off the English scrum was annihilated..sinckler and genge buckled under pressure
