southend

A hot one as opposed to the sweet chilli crap you get in most supermarkets.

Also, if you can make a decent chilli ice-cream I'd be interested!!!

Do you have yellow (banana) chillis? Discovery used to do them but they've not been in for ages

I've recently discovered Nando's Peri Peri sauce.

Comes in various strengths but I started with the extra hot one which is excellent.

Is that the Lanes or North Laine? I did hear there was a chilli-dedicated shop in Brighton but never discovered it. Thanks btw.

My favourite is a chilli oil made with garlic, dried shrimps and spices, in little jars available from good Asian supermarkets.

Many years ago, I was pissed and snorted chilli lager ! Never again

These days for sensible sauce it's Nando's Hot Peri Peri and for stupid, it's the bottle of Holy Shit lurking at the back of the cupboard somewhere, waiting for the next unsuspecting fool to say they can take any chilli sauce !

Variety is the spice of life so do a hot one a mild one and one in between.

I have tried some dragons blood, that had a nice kick to it.

I am working my way through a bottle of Daves insanity sauce.

As for tha chilli beer I bought a few bottles, sweated the labels off them and replaced them with other beer labels. Part way through the night I gave them out, so funny to see the reaction on peoples faces when the heat kicks in

trouble with all bottled chilli sauces I've tried is that the flavour doesn't last long, once opened. Tabasco tastes like vaguely spicy vinegar once it's a week or so old
