Do you remember how much income you had to have before they gave you

These day you can be on the dole and have one

I think part of this cost of living crisis we having at present

Is down to much Credit

sAnd Credit killing high streets

Folk would have more money if didnt use Credit as much

I'm 52 never had one wouldnt even know how to use one

The crazy thing is you need some sort of credit/borrowing to get your credit rate high. Madness.

Just to add, I only really use it when I feel I need the security of the guarantee. Otherwise I take my bag of 1p and 2p coins for my costa coffee

Yeh, people who manage their finances so they don’t have borrowings are seen as a bad risk.

My dad was massively anti debt and drummed it into me to not have a credit card I remember him going mad when he seen I had a debit card he didn’t understand I could only spend one money on it haha.

I’m thankful for him though have zero debt only debt I ever had was my mortgage most my mates are ticked up to the eyeballs

You use to have to have a reference. My mum was mine when I got my first credit card. Only use it for online purchases

"The crazy thing is you need some sort of credit/borrowing to get your credit rate high. Madness."

It’s crazy our rating was crap as we had no mortgage & own our home outright, no debt (Did well out of previous home) so no credit trail.

I had to get a C/C & spend a bit on it to watch my credit score go up above “Poor” to “Good” & upwards.

Total crap really. If you have no debt your score should be “Stunning” not bloody “Poor”.

It's a fix to keep you tied into the financial system

The guarantee (section 75) can be really hard to claim on now, similar to charge back on debit card. Since Brexit attitudes in banks have moved to American / libertarian way ‘caveat emptor’ which values business over consumer rights even though the EU retained law exists, it’s only applicable now when buying from uk not EU based businesses. Beware
