A Secret Hideaway In the caravan of love

Love it or hate it.

I love the breakfast deal, Sausage or Bacon Roll and a coffee all for £2.

Tasty! And apparently quite a nice company; they give their unsold stock to homeless shelters, stuff like that.

Don't like their sausage rolls, under-seasoned and greasy. Have not tried anything else.

Don't quote me on this but I believe they actually specifically bake up Newcastle way for the soup kitchen in Newcastle. I've had the honour and pleasure of attending a talk by a woman who collects the food.

So yes, lots of respect for them in that sense but they need better labelling on the vegetarian front. I'd buy more often if they had good labelling! And they've just turned me down for a job so a bit grumpy with them today

They were better when they were Braggs and were a proper deli, cooked meats, cheeses,, pies and fresh crusty rolls. They rely too much on sandwiches and cakes now and they're nothing special. Occasionally tempted by a corned beef pastie.

They have a hardship grant programme that has been running for many years. I don't really shop there so I have no idea about quality but they are well thought of in terms of corporate giving.

The problem (OK, one of the problems) with Greggs is that they don't promise hot food.

If you in the right shop at the right time, it'll be hot.

Otherwise ............

Budget food outlet which puts who knows what in its flaky products BUT that's no different from hundreds of others.

Had the odd baguette and they seem fine.
