Earlier this year, because I thought I’d done autopay, but that wasn’t possible/functioning in that specific car park and I missed the signs that informed people of that, so instead of £4 something it cost me £55 FML

A couple of years ago. I argued it and sent a bunch of emails showing other cars on the road parked like me. Each email could only accept 1 photo attachment so I sent around 15 with different cars.

Think they got so sick of me or i was right, (which I was) they recinded it!

I had one few years ago and I appealed and they cancelled it when they realised that their cameras were wrong and I had no reason to stay in their car park for 18hrs when I was somewhere else miles away. I was able to prove it to them with the help of the other car park.

Gibraltar/Cheshire/London

Never had a parking fine, ever.

However, back in January I did receive a "parking invoice" to give its correct term from a Sainsburys carpark alleging I had parked from around 2pm until just after 8pm that evening with the max permitted stay being 2 hours.

Only thing is I was down in Gibraltar and my car was - VERY provably - at Manchester airport.

They, very reluctantly it has to be noted, rescinded said invoice.

Good work. I think I technically was in the wrong. An inch or so onto a dropped kerb but less on it than every other car parked on the road none of which had a ticket!!

Couple of years back.Parking in a bus lane in Reading, except a minute before the picture was taken I was 150 odd miles away at a petrol station.Cloned number plate.Problem is because everything is automated it wasn't until a human being got involved, that the white Audi A8 in the picture was not the red Mitsubishi L200 double cab pick up registered to me.

Put my car on charge in a public car park with a 3hr free limit, but then got absolutely swamped with meetings and tasks and completely forgot to get it before the 3hrs was up.

Yes but I’m getting frustrated, been 3 weeks or so it’s happening.

Had a polite word last week but still happening so email to council now I suppose.

Once in Glastonbury. Parked in a pay and display. Left the car and between there and the pay meter got distracted and just forgot. So did the 2 others with me. It's only when I returned to the car and walked pass the pay station again that I remembered to my horror I forgot to get a ticket. I did then think to myself still I'd have to be unlucky to actually get a ticket. But there it was stuck to the windscreen.

It was a fair cop so I paid straight away. It said if paid within a small time frame it was only £25. That didn't seem extortionate to be fair (council car park). We'd had about £7 worth of parking there anyways. So got online and paid it.

And that's my Grandpa Simpson account of that time I got a ticket.

A couple of months ago in London, fortunately work will pay them if we don't take the piss and get too many, usually cheaper than trying to find somewhere to park a van when you factor in the staff time

There was on street parking bays and a walled area parking bays. One machine wasn't working, so I presumed they were all the same company as they were a footpath and low wall apart. Wrong

I got one at oak furniture land car park in Cambridge. They sent me a ticket and photos as proof and said I was being fined for parking there over two hrs..... The thing they failed to even look at was the photos.... I was there on the front seat breast feeding my few weeks born baby. I pointed that out, basically look at the photo, and they rescinded it !!

Whoop win for me

If only they stopped messing with the roads in Leeds. Mind you, they mess with everything. I got a ticket while back as could not use the ticket machine as something was blocking the coin slot. I took a pic and was cancelled. Generally though they are very, very keen to dish them out in the city centre.

If you get a ticket and it's not from the council or police don't bother paying it

Firstly a private company cannot fine you and secondly if they want to take legal action they can only move against the person driving not the car owner and if you don't tell them they will not know

You'll get all kinds of threating letters but in my (considerable) experience they come to nothing

Be careful taking this advice.

I am a parking and speeding fine appeal expert.

There are many different aspects to a ticket/the signs and the lines.

How ticket or letter is written.

Wording used.

I have had over 300 tickets in 35 years of driving.

Only paid 11 to date LOL.

7 speeding fines iv won 4 of the 7.

Think this could make me very experienced.

If its council I pay the next day, the council do not play about, in my experience.

I didn't have to pay as a "gesture of goodwill". Mate, I was pregnant and hooked up to monitors. Dosey twonks.
