charitable acts

Just out of curiosity, what would you consider to be a charitable act?

Feeding the birds for example?

For me roughly speaking.. a charitable act is an act towards a person(s), animals, society or parts thereof, that is to their (perceived ) benefit and does not provide me with any gain (other than perhaps a feel good factor)

Something that helps others without receiving anything in return.

I sometimes do the shopping for my elderly neighbour when she cant get out.

Or helping out at the local kitty sanctuary for a few hours over the weekends. my examples anyway.

This is pretty much my definition too.

I used to be in St. John's and also worked for cpl never asked or wanted anything in return ( in fact I left St. John's because they wanted to start charging a set amount for us to support a event rather than a voluntary donation )
