I have lost my voice due to sore throat and I generally feel like crap and everyone at work is laughing at me sounding like a knob lol

Hot drinks, as hot as you can bear - helps kill the bugs.

Get some root ginger, slice about a cm and steep in boiling water and sip. You can add honey and a slice of lemon.

Take a week off and rest your voice.

I had exactly the same thing recently; it's sweeping the nation what ever it is. Daughter has it too. I was whispering on the phone to daughter then read later that whispering damages your vocal cords futher. I started talking again on Tues after a week. I sound like bloke tho.

don't speak and carry a A4 white board, write down anything you need to say.

When they take thew piss out of you, use the white board to hit them with it they won't take the piss again.
