be honest....Do you read them?

I know from the messages and photos we get then probably 80% never read our profile.

I have to admit that no profile, a one liner or a profile that is too long tends to get ignored.

What about you?

If I sent you a message saying "hi, you OK" and a picture of my cock, I'd be blocked (see, I read!)

As a single bloke, I have to give myself the best chance and not waste either of our time if we are not what each other wants.

Takes 2 minutes to read a profile x

I don't send messages so I don't really need to read profiles and rarely do.

If someone sends me a message I will read their profile to see if we have anything in common before deciding how to respond.

My profile text hasn't changed in a few years simply because I had to write it that way to make sure that others read it before getting in touch.

I'm terrible for reading them, I can be messaging someone for a few weeks before I finally get round to it.

I read a profile fully before I even open a message from someone new. If it’s not what I’m looking for, the message gets deleted (or occasionally a sarcastic response if I’m in a mood, which I’m not proud of).

If someone can’t even be bothered to right a handful of considered sentences and take a couple of up to date pictures for the opportunity to get sex, our effort and energy levels aren’t a match.

It’s a pretty good filter x

Reply privatelyReply in forumReply +quote

I use all information contained in someone’s profile to determine if we’d be a match. Text, photos, verifications if available (they show me the type of people met previously).

Why wouldn’t I give myself the best opportunity at positive outcomes?

As a Tgirl definitely read profiles and ensured mine was worth reading also. However the majority of winks or messages I received generally had profiles with one or two lines.

Those guys (yes mainly men and a few couples) just didn’t think it was worthwhile creating something interesting to read or look at (pictures generally their knob).

It’s a shame as some of my best meets on here, were with those who’s profiles captured my attention right away.

Yes I read them. They tend to be a good gauge of a person's personality, but especially keeping an eye out for those "requirements" they may have and smoking status which would stop me messaging in the first place.

Ah I'll be honest, usually it's a skim reading job. Even then, that's only for people I haven't already interacted with in some way.

None of my messages are FAF right now. It's usually more you seem awesome and good chat + those pics are really hot so if you wanna say hey, please do. Usually works for everyone bar single women to be fair.

They can just be SO LONG and we really get distracted by visuals...

I always read a profile as I want to get a sense of how they view theirself and rarely get in to conversation with people who who don't have at least a few lines about theirself (not just thier wants) unless I have met them at a social or interacted with them on the forum.

I don't actually expect someone to read my full essay before messaging but if they haven't at least skimmed a little of it then it is usually pretty evident.

I read them all the time.

I won't necessarily follow the rules though (stand on one leg, pat your head while stroking your cock, and put "I'm an idiot" in the subject heading of your message to know you've read my profile.) Fair game if I get blocked I figure.

I also read veris. And check the profiles of veris. Gives me a better picture of who this is and whether I should say something or whether the pictures and descriptors are as sexy as I thought.

Rarely get a response and that's ok. I know how inundated most are. Most interactions I have are because of chat/forums where people get to know a more rounded me.

Some profiles are a work of art and I think I'll update mine.

Profiles are there to stop you wasting your time messaging someone who is not looking for the same as you.

You save your time and theirs if you read them first.

My profile is a little long but mainly just basic bullet points of what I want and what I don't.

It's an easy read but I get messages everyday from people asking for stuff my profile clearly states I'm not into.

Then they tell me I'm rude for not replying. Why would I reply when the message sender can't spend 2 minutes reading my profile and respecting my wishes?

It's a long profile but the way you've laid it out makes it easy to spot the necessary information to decide whether or not to send a message. Some profiles are just a single huge block of text.

I did try to make it easy but still get messages daily from people who have clearly not bothered.

Right at the top it says I don't do phone sex or cams yet I get requests for both on a regular basis. They then get rude and abusive when I don't reply to their requests. This is why my blocked list is so long.

I always read the ones I write to and try to craft an appropriate, interesting and relevant reply. I then usually ask if they will delete my initial message if they have no interest in chatting.

Quite often, my message is read. It is clear from reading it that I read their profile, but they cannot even be bothered to delete the message if not interested.

So, as an adjunct to the "read my profile you ignorant fuckers" please add delete if no interest.
