Hiding the sluttery beneath a light jacket is hard work if there's any wind

What are you grateful for today fibbers?

I’m grateful for the farmers that produced the vegetable and pumpkin fields I walked, with the family today. Went home with a wheelbarrow full of freshly picked produce. Taught my little one where her food is coming from. She will help me to cook it tomorrow.

A beautiful afternoon in the autumn sunshine.

What are you grateful for today fibbers?"

I'm grateful for a warm home and a drowsy sense of getting to the end of a few days of illness. As far from life threatening as it could get, merely the soul-sapping indignity of life being taken over by bouts of cough, rivers of snot, and a barren lack of interest in all those matters which normally give life such zest. (Such as potentially sluttery beneath winter coats. The very fact that the notion is immediately delightful tells me that my health is returning.)

Sound strange to some but those who know me will know. Paid a visit to my best mate who is no longer with us for a nice natter which I needed after a hard week of some memories flooding back that hit me like a brick wall which made me realise a few things emotionally.

I don’t know you, but know exactly what you mean - those memories can hit you like a truck but not always in a bad way! Hope they’ve given you some clarity though *hugs*

I can relate to that, those memories sneak up on you!

"Sometimes memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks" one of my favourite quotes.

I guess I'm grateful for having the strength to carry on.

Pockets.

Buying too much in the shop, not bringing a bag with you and refusing another as the house and car seems full of them. So in turn you end up stuffing all your purchases in your pockets and arms while hoping it all stays put by the time you get to the car.

Proper carbonara? The stuff with guanciale, egg yolks, oil, freshly grated Parmesan, mixed into the just boiled pasta without scrambling the eggs?

That’s a true art form!

Compromise on the guanciale, but yes you clearly know 'the score'. I was taught by a Sicilian from Catania. She said there are slight regional variations, but obviously her way was superior. I had no complaints.

I'm grateful for the sudden realisation that someone who I believed was a friend is actually a controlling narcissistic human being, and the issues surrounding our friendship are not my fault.

It's been like a weight lifted from me.
