Do you think you're generally liked? Do you think people notice you?

Are you one to court attention a lot or are you a casual dip in and outer?

I am a dip in and out of the forum person. Am I liked? a few like me. A few don't. I don't think I am on enough to be noticed by most I haven't already met at a group social or something.

I think I’ve become more of a dipper in just lately.

It seems to be a far less enjoyable place to hang out of late. I just like to act a bit of dickhead, and opportunities are seemingly shrinking for jolly japes and tomfoolery.

Whether people like me on the forums or not isn't something I care about as much as I used to as I know some people that do like me which is enough!

Generally liked? Not really. Noticed? Sometimes. Tends to be by people who don't like me, gay men (or "straight" men), or more recently by something / someone I'm not allowed to mention or talk about here. But it involves being singled out / excluded.

I tend to dip in and out.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

I used to be on a lot and court attention all the time. It was fun when it was fun. So back then, people noticed. Some liked me, some really didn't, some didn't really care either way.

Then I took a 9 month break.

These days I dip in and out, have gone back to my lurker days more than anything. And mostly I'm not really noticed, except for the people who like me, or, I'd imagine, those who really don't.

Occasionally I'll seek attention in a significant way, but more often than not these days I throw in a thought here and there and go away again.

It's interesting isn't it? There are far fewer "thinky" threads. Far fewer tomfoolery threads.

Dip in and out now. I think the forums go through peaks and troughs and there’s certain people who I enjoy and certain people I roll my eyes at.

I’m not a controversial poster so I don’t think I stick out either way, which is how I prefer it. Our profile will be enjoyed by some and others don’t enjoy it as we don’t hold back for our feelings for each other or some of our exploits - that can be too saccharine for some to see people happy ()

The forums are just like a pub, you’ll have people that you are friends with, some who you don’t get on with and some you’ve not chatted to yet.

I’m not tied to the forums so it wouldn’t matter either way whether we ceased contributing or whether others did.

I think I am generally tolerated. My profile helps me.

When people meet me in person they are pleasantly surprised. I’ve known several people who have me blocked, saw me, though not necessarily met/spoke to me in person and then unblocked me, haha. I have made this comment on the forum before, and a couple who did this actually blocked me again, LOL!

I am quite sweet, cute (would have never used that word for myself, but I get told it a lot!) chatty and above all: I am caring. So not too bad company.

On the forum I am always under the radar. It used to bother me in the past. Now it doesn’t. I am just one of the many fish in the sea of Fabness.

I do think socials, putting a face to the words can mean people are more likely to interact with you - friendships are cemented/formed etc. I don't think you have to attend events to be noticed though.

The forums go through peaks and troughs don't they? All depending on engagement levels, diversity of topics presented to ensure the aforementioned...

And I'm going to stop there before I start going into stuff and reveal far too much about my real life.

Wise words Joe. We do need new people, for one the majority of forum users are getting to a certain age. It's also good to have fresh ideas, new personalities and interactions. Else it becomes a stagnant inc*stuous pit and that's not really fun for anyone.

I dip in and out these days. More out than in really. But I have friends here that I hope like me! I’m not sure people that haven’t met me always get my humour. But that’s the problem with the written word. I’m just here to make myself chuckle.

"Do you think you're generally liked? Do you think people notice you?

Are you one to court attention a lot or are you a casual dip in and outer? "

No idea if I'm generally liked, I don't think I post enough for anyone to really make an informed decision on me.

Being noticed is difficult to judge, going off replies I'd say I don't feel noticed, but, when I do occasionally post I do see my profile veiws go up, so I guess I'm noticed by some.

I dip in and out as it gets extremely repetitive, I don't court attention, but I do wish I felt more included sometimes.

I just like having fun! Some people don't like fun!

Everyone likes fun. But fun is subjective. Sometimes people's ideas of fun overlap and sometimes they clash. One person's fun is another person's irritation/uncomfortable and vice versa. "

I know. I like to have my definition of fun obviously

All over

I just post or start a thread if I like and not really worry much about being liked or not. I am always though measured in how I interact with people until I get the right vibe

as whilst most people are nice and inclusive, there are one or two that I rather keep away from based on their own forum comtributions. Arrogance masquerading as confidence in particular. Sadly there also a few people on here with extreme views that are certainly not my cup of tea. On the whole though it's great, passes the time, raises the odd smile and giggle and certainly informative and educational.

North East Scotland, mostly

I don't tend to ruffle feathers so I'd be surprised if lots of people disliked me. It's impossible to know though, and also inconsequential - I'm more interested in who likes me than who doesn't! There's always going to be folk who aren't your people.

Attention? Yes, sometimes I seek it, and enjoy it. Usually with some ridiculously overt flirting nonsense. Other times I'm quiet on here.

I'm a dipper. I read less than 10 threads a day and contribute to 2 or 3 on a busy day.

I don't use any other part of the site and spend less than an hour a day on here.

As far as I was concerned very little of what I have to say has stuck but surprisingly most of the messages I get are compliments for not being afraid to go against the grain so I'll take that.

Some dislike me for speaking the uncomfortable truth in relation to balance or lack of in the forums while others applaud.

I know for a fact that there are a few who get annoyed just seeing that I'm still here and contributing and that in itself makes me smile.

It's worth the subscription just for that alone.

I'm probably hard to completely ignore me (though of people try I think lol) but as long as I feel I'm not actively disliked I'll continue to post here I think (so I feel I'm liked enough I guess).

Regarding courting attention I'd like my posts to be read for sure. I think few people will say "yes I court attention" even those who clearly do. I find it really hard to gauge if I've been read or not sometimes (and it's quite hard on a phone to read longer posts too I think), but I know lots of people here read without commenting too. I got a recent PM saying I'm FOS and "it's always about you".. it certainly isn't that, I just like to post here and I post how I post!

I 'dip in and out' enough to have almost not replied to this one.. it all depends how I'm feeling really. Some days I'm bit more chatty than others.

I think it's not that easy here to simply just say you liked a post (and uncommonly there is no 'like'). Half of our allotted 175 posts could be just approvals if people really went for that! (Well that's what I tell myself anyway!) Threads can fill with fluff and crumbs sometimes, but even then and on the whole I think Fab is one of the most concise forums out there. In some of the more political threads I can find a certain terseness to be a bit of a pain sometimes (ie the Truth is Simple kind of thing), but on the whole I like it here.

If you engage in politics it can feel a little like that. Try and think of Fab as a whole though? Certain issues are well championed here, others are left well-alone by most people, and can thus get top-heavy with certain view points. Contribute and you can be quickly-informed of your supposed 'unpopularity' by the ever-terse 'spade is a spade' brigade. Truth Telling these days is very much of the 'cruel to be kind' variety.

Wise words Joe. We do need new people, for one the majority of forum users are getting to a certain age. It's also good to have fresh ideas, new personalities and interactions. Else it becomes a stagnant inc*stuous pit and that's not really fun for anyone."

I agree, the same people will tend to stick to those whose opinions they agree with as you start to understand their personalities so any new opinions or topics are always welcome.

London

I am a dipper. Not a double dipper though as where is the etiquette in that.

I dip into the nocturnal lounge sporadically so that Nero knows I am still alive.

I will see if there is a Meli post as it will normally be something I care to post on.

I think I was appreciated during the horrid period when most of us would be kind and tolerant of each other.

Now I doubt most, but the old hands, would not have a clue who I am.

Like me or loathe me that is life. The older I get I don't actually give a fig. There is nothing I can do about that and the world will not stop if people hit a block button.

So anyway this is my 6 week drop into the fora. I am off to the shops to see the PSL merchandise at Starbucks which always makes me think of you and Jamie Hants

"More of a reader than a poster. I enjoy the thoughtful, clever and zany.

Posting, I am a confirmed thread killer, so indifference seems to be the main reaction. Indeed I fully expect this post to go entirely unremarked all the way to 175. "

You're not that much of a thread killer; it's still ongoing.

I do think that no comments being made on a post doesn't mean that people haven't read it and agree. Heck, even disagree. If there was an upvoting/downvoting system, whilst it could be abused, it would mean would realise their comments aren't unnoticed, x

I dip in and out. I’m not overly fussed if people like me or not, but I try to just be me

Liked. No idea. Noticesd. Rarely. I go through phases of being on a lot, and then tap out for a few weeks

It's nice to think I'm noticed and liked but I just go with the flow..I'm not going to be everyone's cup of tea, coffee or glass of gin lol

"I dip in and out as the mood takes me. I suspect anyone paying attention to me mostly thinks I'm weird. "

Nothing wrong with weird ! Who wants to be " normal " anyway

"Do you think you're generally liked? Do you think people notice you?

Are you one to court attention a lot or are you a casual dip in and outer? "

I know we got our first meet from me talking on the forums.

I think some people notice me (my wife has no interest in talking, she's more of a Doer)

When I first joined fab and if I believed something I would argue my point but I quickly realised that was mental suicide. So now I say my piece and move on. I don't feel the need to talk on every thread. But I do love good conversation and seeing different perspectives

I know some people like me and that’s enough for me.

I post when I feel like it. Some days I like getting more involved than I do others.

I've become a dipper more recently, I just don't have the time really, I'd rather be gazing at Hades the way Meli does from her avatar...

Am I liked? Yeah by some I'm sure! I wouldn't want someone to dislike me based on an online presence! Meet me then decide! We can't all get along!

Cherry x

Ps Meli, your avatar makes me want to have a penis...

"Dippers, and people watchers

People are fascinating aren't they? It's a treasure trove for people watching. "

I wonder why we want to watch people on a swinging site. We should be mating with others and watching ourselves in a pool of wetness and everyone feeling joyous.

As for being liked op, do you mean in here?

Joining fab swingers I am not here to be liked by the same forumites year on year off.It would feel like being in playround op and finding your likes but actually no one likes you. which sometimes it is in forums.

I believe in fab swingers family whether virtual or in real life.

Forums or chat or messages be kind to one another.

I dip in and out, depending on my mood. I try not to venture into the threads that will annoy me, but doesn't always work.

I feel liked by the people I like, and I hope they know I like them too (and I don't just mean fancying).

I don't go out of my way to be noticed, but I think I am noticed by some, like most of us. But equally could vanish without too much of a ripple either...

Been more active recently, but overall a dipper with flurries of real busy posting.

I think people don't know me enough to like me but hopefully that means I'm also not disliked.

I'm only starting to notice the regulars myself. Xx

"I'm a dipper.

always worth staying for
