Do you cut and paste messages?

We get a lot from men which are obviously cut and pasted and very generic.

We can understand it as a message several lines long and well worded means so much more that "Can I fuck the Mrs".

We can see from messages on here that men often get no answers so to read a profile, write a message and get no reply is disheartening.

Winks we see a just being lazy so usually just delete them.

What are your thoughts?

As for winks, yes they're low effort, but it's a good way to gauge if someone might be interested before messaging. If I send one and don't get one back, I'm not going to bother with a message because they're not interested. A wink back means there's some interest. To me anyway.

I like sending a wink, I see it as an ice breaker and showing a bit of interest and intent instead of jumping straight into a PM, maybe that’s where I’m going wrong then!

I often do a cut and paste but generally constructed message, I will tweak it depending on the profile.

But as a single man on here, often you find your messages are just not read (this is not a moan, just understand the ratio of messages females and couples can get) so sometimes if you do a special message it just gets lost in the fab noise

Winks are ok some use them some don’t it’s sometimes a good little hello and I’ve liked what I’ve seen with our spamming someone’s messages

I prefer winks. I don’t read most messages most of the time. I will always check out a profile before I read a message anyway so if the profile doesn’t match what I’m looking for then I probably won’t read the message. So winks for me makes more sense and cuts down the list of unread messages. If I like what I see after a wink then I will message them first or wink back. A wink shows interest after all. I think real effort can come later when trying to get to know each other.

I don't look at winks at all on this account.

Message wise, I have a copy and paste "not interested" message that I send out. I do try and reply to every message I get, and it just makes it easier. I've never messaged first here (yet), and all interested replies are written at the time!

I don't message and rarely wink however when we have in the past we've had some good meets that started with a wink.

We get lots of blokes message us clearly ignoring that very large warning this couple don't meet men, but still proceed to send and still moan they don't get replies....no shit Sherlock!

I don’t get the issue with winks, I see so many profiles stating they don’t look at them, it’s mad- a wink can say the same thing a message can say instantly, as already mentioned- it’s a good sign of interest. I’ve had a wink and I was really happy to get it, even though on that occasion it came from someone I wasn’t interested in, I still acknowledged it.

It’s almost like some people see it as a rude, lazy gesture and that’s not right at all

Messages no I don’t use cut and paste messages, I try to tailor them to whoever the recipient is based on their profile

I know I send out really awkward first messages, without copying and pasting. Enough to make a terrible first impression. But haven't sent any out on this site yet

I'm very shy and hopeless at breaking the ice so I'm a lot more comfortable sending out a wink. But if a person's profile states they don't want winks then I wouldn't send one

You winked us 11 months ago!

We do reply to some winks but when we get them from people so far away we tend not to. We would never send a pasted message and are unlikely to reply to one.

On this profile and for almost all single women profiles, if I'm active or post a new public photo - I can get hundreds of winks a day, plus hundreds of messages.

Most of the winks have cocks as profile pictures, and I just don't have the time or inclination to open every profile to see if they are worth a reply. Especially when having to already filter messages.

I probably sent 2-3 messages a month at my peak I’d often use winks to check interest first and receiving winks from women is quite common , some are nervous to send first message

When they are close to each other and relevant I've cut/pasted polite rejections too.

I've notice on a dating site (Okxcupid) that some people are taking to posting unashamed short forwards or resumes that are clearly used more than once, and some even just send 'hi' to lots of people they like the look of (my ex did this and chose me!). I've thought about this and concluded who can judge? Not seen it on the Fabs so much though - apart from the short ones like 'hi' etc obviously, men especially will have a day spamming given the right mood!

I always look at Winks - they're a quick way to see if someone's interested in chatting. I don't object to winks.
