How many of you like eating game? I’m fond of a bit of venison, pigeon and believe it or not a lovely bit of squirrel!

I’ve had deer once mate as my uncle was following a car that knocked one down and killed it instantly so he stopped by it and rang my dad who came and got it and prepared it. Was nice but wouldn’t ever have one that had been shot purposefully to eat which may be hypocritical considering I’ve ate more than my fair share of chicken pork and beef but I love seeing deer when out walking they are so amazingly beautiful and I know that doesn't make them more worthy of life than any other animal I try not to overthink this haha

I know what you mean. The sight of a herd of dear is magnificent. I was driving once late at night and one jumped out of nowhere in front but as there was no traffic I was able break and let it pass. It did scare me a bit but so glad it walked away safely

Venison is lovely when cooked right, I’m partial to a bit of game pie but all the individual elements can be awkward to cook together so to have a good one you need a chef/cook who understands that.

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

You can keep game too if you hit it in your car,if you keep on driving the next road user (driver/biker/cyclist/,walker) can have it.

Whilst I don't condone shooting for sport there is also the situation that parts of the country are getting over populated with deer to the detrement of other species in the environment and therefore culling is required. If the deer are shoot for legitimate stock management purposes I would rather that it was eaten than wasted. Also much of the deer sold is farmed so morally no differebt to eating other farmed meats.

All mine is shot myself although probably a contentious issue for some. Deer are prolific where I am and as we all know the grey squirrel decimated our native population of reds.

As for pigeons, a substantial flock of pigeons can eat an acre of wheat in 5 days and really are a bit of a nuisance to the arable industry.
