Just saw on a tv news channel a story about what I deemed to be incredibly pathetic

This woman had saved up for twenty years to wed herself. Yes, that is what the story was about

She had fourty best friends/family there.

One things a cert = she won't be getting a divorce

She should have saved her cash and come here to whine about how hard it is to get a meet.

It’s no dafter than going into wedding dress shops and trying on wedding dresses for fun.

I hear people do that!

I think she saved up over many years for her “wedding” that never happened (yet!! Never say never!!) but she reached that point in her life where she wanted a mahoosive shin dig to celebrate her, so she did it.

All power to her. Personally I would have fucked everyone off and gone travelling around the World but it’s whatever makes you happy.

She might, if she wanted to marry someone else! This is actually a thing you know, though I'm not sure how common it is.

It's her money and her life I say, and the 40 guests would have had the usual ball!

It's slightly less pointless than the woman who married a ghost

Because news storys will give that headline.

She maybe saved for years for a wedding she never had.

Not sure what's so pathetic about it.

Each to there own and all that jazz.

.

I think in my mind it's less pathetic than the people who spend 30 odd thousand on one flipping day, then end up splitting up a year later.

I think a ghost is more pointless than the British woman in 2005 who "married" a dolphin

There is actually a Jerry Springer episode, and I think that it's on YouTube, where an American guy married his horse. What you don't see is a stallion giving his filly away though. The horse might not have particularly liked the taste of wedding cake, but it might have enjoyed having it's oats later that night.

"Taking self love a tad too far but each to their own."

Agreed. My thread is light-hearted and if that is what makes her happy, then I and I guess everyone else on this thread wishes her a lot of happiness.

Just thought about this, I would not be too surrised if she is now contacted by many guys that want to marry her.

I would love to see what I look like in a wedding dress but in reality I probably wont ever get married.

I hope you meet the right person, soon

What I have noted is that the older you get, the more set you are in your ways as will be the potential other half. This then creates a poblem when the two move in together and they may fall out over the slightest of things.

My recommedation to anyone wanting to get married. Spend as little as possible on the wedding and never borrow to spend on a wedding. Save the money to do-up your place, buy a property, up-grade your car, go on hols and ensure you have cash in the bank for a rainy day.

If you really love someone, a big wedding is not required unless you have loads of money even having spent a lot on the wedding
