The Essex Chief of Police is using dashcam from public vigilantes camera footage to help prosecute motorists. Is the country we want to live in?

What's going on here guys. It's all over the news

Yes, it *is* the country i want to live in. Dangerous & aggressive driving seems to be more commonplace than ever & there aren't enough traffic officers to cover the roads - and there never were.

Vigilantism is taking the law into your own hands & 'delivering justice'.

Reporting crime to the police is the act of a good citizen.

Glad to clear that up for you.

Hardly breaking News Tom, and it's not just in Essex. Forces up and down the country have facility to upload dashcam footage.

The Essex scheme is called Extra Eyes Safer Roads if I recall correctly and if it helps to make our roads safer, I'm all for it

I'm for it. If a person is driving dangerously enough that the public are sending footage directly to the Police, and it helps them take said person off the roads, then why not?

They rarely get taken off the roads. If they do they carry on driving. The getaway driver for the clown who tried to break into my shop was on a driving ban,for driving whilst disqualified(and therefore without insurance) he got a six month ban.

I’ve got one on my bicycle so I can report ignorant, inconsiderable motorists in Essex

I agree with you there. Reporting crazy drivers to the police is an act of community minded citizenship.

Whaley Bridge,Nr Buxton,

Always drivers isn't it?,There are no cyclists who would get points, fined, banned even jailed if they drove a car the way they ride a bike.

Depends on what the footage is for? If it’s for speeding then they’d have a fat chance proving what speed you were going

when you watch the videos on that site, you notice that the people (cyclists) have no idea of the highway code and their own errors that they filmed and then sent to the police.

the funniest was a cyclist complaining about a car jumping the red lights, yet over 20 cyclists jumped the same lights in the same video. the cyclist didnt like the response lol

or cyclingmikey who was found by the courts to have lied and actually jumped on to the bonnet of the car that he claimed ran him over.

cycling droid, gets laughed off of youtube so much he keeps changing his account and channels.
