How quickly do you go off people?

If you like someone is that it, your minds made up and nothing changes?

Or is all it takes is one little comment, one status update, one unfortunate picture and that's it? Done.

The key to me is *how* you go off people. You might lose attraction (we all do it), but do you also then lose respect for everything they say or do?

In real life I think that is a characteristic a lot of people are quite wary of, because it lacks a certain integrity. Like the ended relationship where someone immediately blocks the phone (post relationship ghosting?) and throws out the unwanted clothes - all after a pretty-mundane parting of ways in the name of 'looking forward'.

Or perhaps that person at work who really 'doesn't suffer fools'? They seem to me to rarely get to see other people for who they really are, because people so often tend to put some form of mask on with them.

It's honestly so interesting to hear that that one little thing can put people off where you go from fancying them to never wanting to see or hear from them again. I wonder what those things are and why they seem to be apparent red flags even you like most of the other things about them.

I think it has do with certain things, because nobody is perfect of course, and people can put up with loads of 'little things' when they are in love (or even just into it) etc. But certain things can seem to do it for some people! It's all about the extremity of that turned-off feeling though. That feeling that there is no turning back.

I can't help feeling though, that when feelings run really deep and over many different areas, these things might perhaps diminish when it comes to that special person a lot of people are after in life. When we are young we can throw things away, but the older we get the more we realise we need to invest more I think. But of course I'm talking about love here, which is something aside from all this perhaps.

"It's honestly so interesting to hear that that one little thing can put people off where you go from fancying them to never wanting to see or hear from them again. I wonder what those things are and why they seem to be apparent red flags even you like most of the other things about them.

I mean it's obviously unreasonable because things can have been worded badly accidentally but to be honest, I think just be yourself and if people hate you for it, cool! It's honestly no drama. Just less sexy innuendos with another profile.

I get what you mean, especially over text when things can be so easily read in a different tone than it was meant. It is intriguing to know what nonsense I've said that immediately made a conversation stop dead or caused a block

It could be anything, I stopped caring a long time ago.

Maybe they don't like my feet.

I like your feet it's all good.

They are critically acclaimed mens feet to be fair "

It's not unreasonable

Should someone go and ahead and sex with someone who has said or done something they don't like because they don't want to be seen as "unreaseonable"

No, obviously not. Don't do anything you don't want to do kindergarten!

But is it unreasonable to completely assume someone's a piece of shit because of one comment (if it wasn't anything super horrific/racist/sexist/homophobic etc)

In my opinion yes.

I take time to like someone. When I first meet people it tends to be more often a no, for whatever reason. But some people there is no gut negative feel so will give them a chance. So once they are in my like mental pile then it is hard to get out.

That is unless they say something stupid, ie racist or sexist or against certain sexualities or have really weird view in general. Or just show they are not nice. Also if they post a meme or a photo again showing this, I have no problem holding up my hands and saying 'Ive made a mistake, no thank you, please don't speak to me again'.

I think I'm extremely tolerant. So it will take something big or bad for me to go off someone.

I think I'm quite a good judge of character so if I've taken time to like someone then I'm prepared to overlook certain things about someone I like, after all no one is perfect. Give and take.

.

It depends on how invested I am in a person. With some people it's a simple thing and that's it. Vag dry. Other people it accumulates over time and then they become a walking no. Once it's happened, it's happened. I can't refancy someone.

It can be quite quick, depends how well I know them I think, people on here that I don't really chat to it can be a simple comment or something, people I do chat to then it would probably take more.

I'm getting the feeling that 'like' in this post is very superficial and means no more than fancy. In that case I could change my mind about someone who changed the fantasy I had about them because that is all it would have been - just thought and fantasy.

If i actually knew them and liked them and they were a reality to me then it would take more than a pic or update to put me off...... at the very least i'd talk to them and ask what their thinking was behind the 'out of character' stuff. REAL people would deserve that.

In the end it's all about our own values not the values of others.

Quite quickly. Especially if they give me a reason to doubt them, I can't shake that off. But any form of lying, game playing, breadcrumbing etc.. turned off like a light switch. Men think it makes us want them more, no instant ick.

For me on here, liking/fancying them is as far as it will ever go. Even after meeting them in person.

That's maybe why I'm so easily put off

In that case. I'm with you. I could go off someone in an instant, even if i'd had great sex with them. In fact - it's happened. There has been times when i've thought - ewww you are not who I thought you were.

Depends how invested I am in someone if I'm completely honest.

If you're just someone I like then I can cut you off instantly for the slightest thing and you'll not be able to redeem yourself easy at all.

If you've been a dickhead, brought unnecessary drama, sent a shitty message to who I'm invested in, and directly caused a problem in my life then yep I'll cut you off no matter how much I liked or fancied you. And sometimes that's a real shame as theres always some that I think I would have got along with and had things in common with if they weren't such a hypocritical wanker. There's no redeeming because if you cross me there's no coming back from that.

But whey I'm invested in someone I can choose to overlook some things which has been my utter downfall and I need to tolerate a lot less than I do.

I can get the ick very easily if someone is racist, homophobic, unempathetic or just generally cunty.

I don’t totally consider myself Demi but I definitely go that way once I chat with people.

In most cases, if I have met someone in person, and got on well with them, it takes quite some effort to put me off them. But once they're in that zone, their chances of ever coming back to even just "friends" zone are minimal.
