When things that’s are illegal are discussed, yeah.

Probably better to not push the topic either, or this one will disappear and you’ll be off on another holiday.

Sometimes it's when too many comments get reported they remove it.

I'm confused, did a whole thread go or just a post or two? I prefer the latter if they can manage it (unless the thread is obviously breaking the rules of course).

I don't personally like to see otherwise normal-enough threads get derailed and then entirely removed tbh - better to remove offending posts. I've been in some quoted chat that has suddenly vanished, but I just think, well at least it wasn't the thread.
