I never liked the idea of going to a club and I went to a munch once and it wasn’t for me. It all feels a bit 50 shades , touristy?

I did meet someone who was able to reawaken what was always there and I got a huge amount of confidence and then I read about RACK which is for me not SSC which is for many.

Ah, right. Thank you. I know there's Club Play in Blackpool but it's Literally on my doorstep and I MEAN literally, so I'm a little concerned about rocking up there as much as I'd love to. This is something I'd prefer to keep private for now so any local BDSMers reading this please feel free to get in touch. Would be nice to meet up with some like minded people for a drink and a chat.

Club Play is a very different thing to a munch. Though I think I'm down there this weekend for Taboo which is slightly more bdsm focused than they usually do.

A quick search shows there is a Blackpool munch every month at the 3 piers cookhouse

There is nothing wrong with going to your local club. Personally I would go and not care who seen me but I am not a good guide on things like that I guess. At the very least I would chat to them on a night where its open. They can tell you about a local munch (a meet and greet)

Once there just really relax and enjoy being surrounded by your people.

It's common when attending your first munch to message someone who's going, (group leaders etc) and ask them to meet you beforehand so you don't have to walk in on your own.

Find your local munches and get to know people in the scene.

Dommes are a rarity in terms of supply and demand, if you go in just looking for a domme you're likely to only find the professionals interested.

If you have signed up to the FETish LIFEstyle type website use the event finder on there. It is probably the best part of the website and allows you to search for what kind of event (munch/tutoring/play), where and when. We both started by attending the local to us munches, then local play events and then play events all over the country. A few years later we have ran our own kink events, hosted peer rope classes and DM'ed for many events all over the north.

The people that are part of the lifestle are in the main incredibly welcoming and there is always plenty eager to teach. We gravitated towards the 'older/experienced' people, they helped us learn and understand about the play we wanted, the safest ways to go about it and what to do if things go wrong, because don't forget it can be very dangerous. Even a single twist of 6mm rope has the ability to paralyse someone.

The whole BDSM scene is very discreet. It has to be since what we do and enjoy is essentially still illegal.
