How to pass Commuting times,

I'm curious how people spend their commuting time both too and from work.

I drive to work so spend some of my time thinking about the day ahead... That's after my initial calming down period because I've often forgotten lunch or something I need for that day.

My mind then drifts to sentimental stuff, as in thinking about past decision etc or just thinking about how to secure my future so I can relax a bit more.

The journey home is more often filled with silly thoughts or random questions. Such as would I rather be able to read minds or shape shift.

Plus there is always the odd day where I'm distracted and horny.

Xx

If I’m driving, I pass the time by erm…….driving, and all that it entails.

If I’m not, and that is seriously rare……I sleep.

Best not to daydream while you’re driving.

I don't go into the office full time anymore but when driving I use the radio, but when on the tram, I just listen to music or a podcast

I drive to work. I often get really good ideas about work related stuff on the way to/from work but can't write it down!! I do forget things sometimes but I mainly note them down when I get in or get home. I give my PT lifts home on Mondays usually and so that commute is mainly us chatting shit

Pre-covid, when I worked at the office every day, I got the bus and used to just watch the world go by. I enjoyed listening in to other people's conversations. Now when I go in I cycle, so mainly I swear about the shit drivers who get too close to me, or congratulate myself out loud when I get up the hills without stopping. I hope no-one listens in

I can’t lie though, I drive in every morning (30 minute drive) and for the last 2 weeks I’ve had the Christmas radio station on the entire time

.

I listen to music on my commute, will contemplate life, go over the day what I need to do, what's gone well or not so well, make plans for the evening, what I'm going to have for dinner is hopfully the hardest decision of the day

Right behind you…. Boo

In the morning I catch up on the world news. When I reach the point where I hate humans for the cruel things we do to each other (usually out of greed, hatred or jealousy) I pop on a podcast.

Audio books.

Tend to listen to books I've already read. Just seems easier and only need to pay half attention

I love my commute. Down country lanes then onto the A2. Perfect drive through trees, farms, fields. I say good morning to the farm animals.

Dubai & Nottingham

So mines an short one, in the morning it’s a 12-15 min taxi and in the evening its 5 minutes walk, 12 minutes metro, 5 minutes walk.

I normally do WhatsApp messaging in the mornings and TED Talk going home.

I used to commute from Nottingham to Cambridge in the car and loved that I did audio books, Wuthering Heights, The Heart of Success, Yes Man and loads others.

Do something different then. I’ve never worked for a company that didn’t excite and motivate me, I’d rather have a tough life than money
