Both work well depending on how you feel.

There's a level of intimacy you feel from seeing the physical. There's another level from listening to the sweet sounds of someone's vocals.

Generally on cam people just watch and don't talk. Best is when they phone you as you cam. This is why full screen Skype is much better.
