"No not the weather related thing! It's cold, it's awesome get used to it. I mean actually feeling sad. Is it something you feel often? Lucky enough to not remember the last time? Or is it a regular occurrence? I'm pretty used to feeling angry and frustrated and basically pissed off. Thank you men. But the sadness kinda creeps up you sometimes, that's a feeling I don't like. Today is a sad day. How do you get out of the slump? Please don't say wine as I don't have any and I'm a tad upset this. *Ps hot guys might help. Especially those with pretty penises. " I'll give you a hug and probably and erection if you ass brushes up on me. You're an absolute legend and need to listen to uplifting motivational music and have a dance while screaming fuck men x

"I get sad often. I struggle with MH, and the sadness, loneliness and helplessness has just became part of my daily life now tbh. BUT, I’ve started to allow myself to embrace it. Sadness is an emotion just like any other, so instead of trying to ignore/avoid it, I let it happen and work through it. I let myself feel sad, have a cry, watch a sad film etc and eventually it just balances out. " Hugs!!

And crying is a release valve in my opinion.

"Yes. I'm pretty much sad constantly. I do wonder if I'm always going to be this way. I can put on a front, and sure I have moments in my day where I do feel happy... but underneath there is so much sadness that feels so deep to the bone, and it hurts, and it's always there. I rarely ever feel other negative emotions like being angry or frustrated, just sad and it's like nobody notices. I wish it would fuck off. " Sending hugs! You got this

"Sad? Make a journal and just write what you want, the thoughts on paper will help you break them down into what they actually are, either situations or problems, then put your phone in charge and go for a walk in nature doesn’t have to be long just get out when you get back if you have your favourite food then make it but most of all stay away from outside noise like social media and fab, reset. plan, execute, dominate the world " I started journalling beginning of the year, suggested to me by someone off here. But now I can't do that as thinking of him makes me sad in a whole other way. If I went for a walk some days I don't think I'd stop.

"I just feel neutral a lot. Have my moments of laughter and happiness through the day... sometimes I think of bad things in the past that I can't change then I snap out of it. If anything bad happens I resort to feeling numb until I'm back to normal. But day to day life, I don't feel sad, I have my own way of staying positive. They'd have a field day studying my psychology/mind." I believe its an old school mentality. Big boys don't cry was something I learned young. Hard times make hard people imo.

"We get angry and frustrated sometimes but never really sad. We don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves. " That's quite a mean thing to say! I'm sure we are all pleased that you never feel sad, good for you. People feel sad for all kinds of reasons and a majority has absolutely nothing to do with feeling sorry for themselves and wallowing in their own pity! I for one rarely feel very much due to medication. I haven't cried in a very long time. But today I had this cloud come over me and I actually cried, only briefly but it happened and a small piece of me was glad as I had thought that I was void of any extremes of emotion. Thankfully it passed quite quickly. I think it was a mixture of extreme tiredness, hormones and stress. I think it could also have been partly to do with post coital dysphoria after a heavy night last night and no real after care. Anywho, for all those sharing in the "pity party", it's the start of a new week tomorrow (yes,I know it has to start with a monday) hopefully everyone who is feeling low will have a good week.

" I totally get it. As much as I love being single after leaving a 22 year relationship, the only thing I (occasionally) miss is having someone to rant to. When you live alone, it's not as easy to vent those feelings, cos nobody wants to be whinging to their friends all the time if it's not something urgent, right? If it's daytime, I get myself out of my flat & take a walk along the seafront, which helps enormously. If it's night, I may have a bloody good cry & feel better in the morning. Of the two, I prefer distraction- crying makes my eyes puffy!!

" I mean actually feeling sad. Is it something you feel often? Lucky enough to not remember the last time? Or is it a regular occurrence? How do you get out of the slump? " Pretty much daily for a long while. As for how to get out of it? Some days I don't. Others I just try and switch off emotionally and some days I just do whatever is necessary to sleep, whether that's a drink or two or my meds. The reasons are many. The solutions don't appear forthcoming and of late its been one thing after another getting added to the downer pile. So it builds. Sometimes it overloads. Then it's just a case of waiting for the time it subsides enough to get on with something. Sometimes it sneaks up on you when you least expect it, prompted by the stupidest little thing. It's probably my most common state at the moment. People keep telling me it will pass. I'm currently calling bullshit on that.

"I don't feel sad often but when I do, I've learnt to just let myself feel sad and acknowledge it, it helps me understand it more and process better without it turning into a more intense emotion such as anger or resenment. " That “feel sad & acknowledge it” is great advice

"I did a resilience course during covid (you know those desperate things you did to get through the day) anyway, they did make a salient point. It’s ok to be sad without it completely crippling you mentally and emotionally. There might be nothing you can do about the cause of the sadness. It doesn’t mean you can’t find joy and happiness in other aspects of your life at the same time. " Good point, hard to do when you're feeling low. It requires some strength to drag yourself out of the depths

" I'm not a naturally sad person, but some time ago I went through a long period of intense sadness. It was born initially from grief, and so it was natural, but then it was deepened and pushed to the extreme by the wicked actions of another. I very nearly didn't escape it. The only saving grace I had was this: I knew where it came from. Talking, support, and time have helped. There have been some significant bumps along the road, but these days there is so much in my life that makes me happy, I'm not sad any more. But I feel its echo. I don't think it will ever entirely fade. One thing that helped, Ailsa described a landscape: A forest on the edge of a field. And in the field, a bottomless pit. She would ask me, where in this landscape was I standing? If I was in the forest, all was good. If I was in the field, that was concerning. If I was standing at the edge of the bottomless pit, that was a crisis. Being able to say how bad it was, without actually having to say it, was very helpful. It opened up a pathway to support without me having to ask for it. And in time, just being asked made me feel better. Knowing someone cares really helps. I hope you have someone too OP. -G Xx P.S. A pretty penis is something I can help with x
