I'd probably be using a different descriptor in that scenario though. E.g. I live alone, but I am in a relationship. Single leaves a little too much room for misconceptions. | |||

"So single I buy myself flowers in Aldi every week or M&S, when I’m feeling adventurous. " I do that, I like to have a splash of colour in the front room. Often it's carnations because if you get them while they're still in bud rather than fully open, they can last two or even three weeks. If I buy a small bunch of a different colour every week, I can mix old ones that are still fine with the new ones, and usually have two vases full of mixed colours going at any time for only a couple of quid a week. Sometimes I vary by getting small roses (no one else is going to buy me red roses) or Alstroemeria because I like the stripey flowers. | |||
