Fir me forgiving someone frees me from holding them to something. Otherwise the obligation is with me to hold the grudge, not them to do better.

I'll forgive people for silly stuff. But serious things, like abuse, I won't ever forgive them. Why should I allow them forgiveness? I don't feel any worse for not allowing them that, and I certainly don't walk around with hatred held inside of me. I have accepted things that have happened and dealt with them. And some of those people I love, others I would happily dance on their grave. But I will never forgive the people who did terrible things.
