After knowing each other for 16 years and being engaged for 5 we have decided we are going to make it legal and above board sometime this year!

But need to pick a date!!

For the married couples out there, how did you come up with the date to get married on?

We chose the last day in february of a leap year .....hubby says he only has to buy me flowers every 4 yrs

lol

And it, d be 28 yrs till we got the 7 yrs itch

Haha my rugby nut Dad and his rugby nut girlfriend have picked the Aviva premiership final day to get married on this year

Congratulations. I got married in 82 and the date was set when we got enaged at the Xmas of 1980.

She'd agreed that I could pick the month and she the actual date. Being a match going Liverpool fan and knowing that 82 was a World Cup Year, I opted for the safety of July, and she chose the 10th.

When the World Cup Fixtures came out it turned out that the 3rd/4th place play off was on the 10th and the Final on the 11th. Fortunately England didn't cause any issues so we didn't have to have a TV for the Evening Reception, nor cancel the Honeymoon for the Final...

Venue availability for us. The best places get booked up pretty quickly especially Saturdays.

We aren't going for a weekend wedding.... Going to do it on a Thursday, that way our guests can make a long weekend of it!!

You have to have the date that you can get

1.A venue to get married in.

2.A venue for the party.

3.Vacancy for the photographer.

4.Vacancy for the DJ/Entertainer.

5.Vacancy for the Caterer.

6.Family/friends not on holiday etc.

The list does go on a bit.

Pick a month and see whats available that fits in.

Change our date 7 times but still we after 33 years.

find a place to hold your reception and party afterwards and see what dates they have free then see what dates are suitable to you both and your immediate families
